  • Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Finishes 2025 season with Jags

Newsome appeared in 17 regular-season games between the Browns (five games) and Jaguars (12 games) in 2025 and accumulated 52 tackles (41 solo) and nine pass defenses (one interception). Newsome started the season with Cleveland before being traded to the Jaguars in early October. He played a key role in both teams' defenses, and despite dealing with shoulder, hamstring and ankle injuries throughout the season, he ended the 2025 campaign with a career high in total tackles. Newsome enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and should attract offers from teams looking to upgrade their secondary.

  • Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Tackling production drops in 2025

Hamilton recorded 38 tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games with the Jaguars in 2025. Hamilton was coming off a productive 2024 campaign in which he logged 62 total tackles over 17 regular-season games. He saw his tackling numbers dip significantly in 2025, which was in part due to a noticeable decrease in defensive snaps. Hamilton enters 2026 in the final year of his three-year, $34.5 million contract extension that he signed with Jacksonville in April of 2023.

  • Jaguars' Travon Walker: Sack total plummets in 2025

Walker posted 38 tackles (19 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and two pass defenses across 14 regular-season games in 2025 with the Jaguars. The Jaguars exercised Walker's fifth-year option in April after he logged double-digit sacks in both 2023 and 2024. However, the fourth-year pro came nowhere close to that level of production in 2025, though that decreased production can be partially attributed to him dealing with wrist and knee injuries throughout the season. The 2026 season is the last year of Walker's contract, and it's possible that Jacksonville lets the 2022 first-rounder play out his rookie deal rather than offer an extension.

  • Jaguars' Dennis Gardeck: Career-high stops in 2025

Gardeck logged 48 tackles (28 solo), including 2.5 sacks, two pass defenses and one forced fumble across 17 regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2025. Gardeck ended the 2024 regular season on the Cardinals' injured reserve after tearing his ACL in October. He caught on with the Jaguars on a one-year deal in 2025 and progressed enough in his recovery to be available for Week 1. He worked in a rotational role on defense, and while his sack total was his lowest over his last three years, he finished with a career high in tackles while appearing in every single game for the Jaguars, including in the AFC wild-card round against the Bills. Gardeck is an unrestricted free agent but could remain in Jacksonville.

  • Jaguars' Jarrian Jones: Slight bump in production in 2025

Jones played in 17 regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2025 and finished with 49 tackles (35 solo), eight pass defenses (three interceptions) and one fumble recovery. Jones mostly served on special teams from Weeks 3-7, but he was more heavily involved in the secondary following the Week 8 bye, which coincided with No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter being placed on injured reserve after tearing his ACL. Although Jones started in just two of the last 10 games of the regular season, he still played in at least 50 percent of the Jaguars' defensive snaps in nine of those contests and ended that season with the third-most interceptions on the team behind Devin Lloyd and Antonio Johnson (five each). Jones' role on the Jaguars' defense in 2026 will largely depend on Hunter's snap count on both sides of the ball.

  • Jaguars' Montaric Brown: Tackling numbers dip in 2025

Brown recorded 51 tackles (43 solo) and 12 pass defenses (two interceptions) across 15 regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2025. Brown led the Jaguars with 12 pass defenses and played a key role in the secondary as a slot corner, but he saw his tackling numbers decline from 2024, when he registered 75 stops (55 solo) across 17 regular-season contests. The 2022 seventh-rounder will be entering the fourth year of his rookie contract and is eligible for an extension.

  • Jaguars' Eric Murray: Overcomes neck injury in 2025

Murray logged 54 tackles (32 solo), including 1.0 sacks, six pass defenses (one interception) and one forced fumble across 12 regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2025. Murray inked a three-year, $22.5 million contract with the Jaguars in 2025 after spending the five prior seasons with the AFC South rival Texans. He served as the Jaguars' starting safety, but he was sidelined for five games after being placed on injured reserve in October due to a neck injury. Murray was cleared to return in early November and returned to his starting role over the final six games of the season, including the Jaguars' AFC wild-card loss to the Bills. He should start at safety in 2026, though who will start next to him remains to be seen, as Andrew Wingard will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

  • Jaguars' Danny Striggow: Questionable to return Sunday

Striggow exited Sunday's wild-card game versus the Bills with an ankle injury. Striggow missed two straight games with an ankle injury before returning for the Week 18 win over Tennessee. The 23-year-old didn't record a statistic before exiting Sunday's playoff game. In his absence, Dawuane Smoot likely will see increased playing time behind starting defensive ends Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker.

  • Jaguars' Jarrian Jones: Set for Sunday

Jones (illness) doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's wild-card matchup with the Bills. Jones missed Wednesday's practice session due to illness but was able to rally back to full participation Friday, just in time to dodge any injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest. The cornerback is all set to start opposite Greg Newsome as the Jaguars attempt to shut down Josh Allen's offense in the team's first home playoff game since the 2022 season.

  • Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Cleared despite limited practices

Newsome (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's wild-card round game against the Bills. Newsome was limited by a shoulder injury in practice throughout the week but will be available when the Jaguars host the Bills in Sunday's postseason matchup. The starting cornerback could be a key contributor since the normally run-heavy Bills offense may opt for a more pass-heavy approach to put the ball in star quarterback Josh Allen's hands against a Jaguars defense that was the best in the league at defending the run in the regular season.

  • Jaguars' Josh Hines-Allen: Another 8.0-sack regular season

Hines-Allen recorded 8.0 sacks among his 49 tackles (28 solo) in the 2025 regular season while adding three passes defensed. Hines-Allen suited up for all 17 regular-season games and matched his 2024 regular-season sack total. He hasn't come close to replicating the production from his 17.5-sack Pro Bowl season in 2023, but Hines-Allen remains a steady contributor when it comes to rushing the passer, having notched at least 7.0 sacks in six of his seven NFL campaigns. He'll face former namesake Josh Allen and the Bills in the wild-card round Sunday, and Hines-Allen's ability to generate pressure could be key to slowing down Buffalo's star quarterback.

  • Jaguars' Antonio Johnson: Tallies five INTs in 2025

Johnson made 58 tackles (37 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season appearances in 2025. He also recorded a career-high nine passes defensed (including five interceptions) and one pick-six. Johnson's pick-six came Week 18 against the Titans, a contest in which he totaled three solo tackles and one interception, which he returned for the first defensive touchdown of his career. The 2023 fifth-round pick will continue handling a significant rotational role in Jacksonville's secondary during Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Bills. He has one more year remaining on his rookie deal.

  • Jaguars' Arik Armstead: Totals 5.5 sacks in regular season

Armstead compiled 28 tackles (13 solo), including 5.5 sacks, plus one forced fumble across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025. Armstead will continue holding down a starting role at defensive tackle during Jacksonville's playoff run, beginning with Sunday's wild-card-round matchup against the Bills. He has one more year remaining on his contract with the Jaguars, though the team has a potential 'out' in his deal this offseason, albeit at the cost of $17.1 million in dead cap.

  • Jaguars' Andrew Wingard: Production surges in 2025

Wingard compiled 84 tackles (45 solo), nine passes defensed (including one interception) and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025. Wingard put together his most productive season since 2021 as Jacksonville's starting free safety. The veteran played an every-down role before missing Week 14 due to a concussion, and in three of four appearances since, his snap count has hovered closer to the 70-percent mark. Wingard will continue handling a key role in Jacksonville's secondary during the playoffs, beginning with Sunday's wild-card-round matchup against the Bills. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Jaguars' Foyesade Oluokun: Finishes season with 143 tackles

Oluokun recorded eight tackles (three solo) and one pass defensed during Sunday's 41-7 win against the Titans. It was a solid finish to the regular season for Oluokun, whose 143 total tackles across 17 games tied for 10th in the NFL. It's the sixth straight campaign with triple-digit tackles for the 30-year-old. He also recorded one sack, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 2025. Oluokun restructured his contract with the Jaguars in November to free up some cap space, so he's a safe bet to be back for 2026 and is likely to continue to be one of the most prolific tacklers in the league.

  • Jaguars' Jalen McLeod: Will remain on IR

McLeod's (ankle) practice window has expired, so he will remain on injured reserve through the end of the season. McLeod was designated to return from IR in mid December, with the Jaguars hoping to acquire more linebacker depth in time for a potential deep playoff run. The team seems to have decided McLeod is not ready to return, and the sixth-round rookie will need to look towards the 2026 season for a potential NFL debut. The Jaguars will enter Sunday's wild-card clash with the Bills with Foyesade Oluokun, Dennis Gardeck, Branson Combs and Yasir Abdullah set to play at outside linebacker.

  • Jaguars' Jarrian Jones: Unable to practice Wednesday

Jones (illness) did not participate in Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Jones maintained his usual snap share (47) in the Jaguars' Week 18 win over the Titans, but the 24-year-old will miss the team's first practice heading into wild-card weekend. He'll likely need to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have a chance at playing against the Bills on Sunday.

  • Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Limited in practice Wednesday

Newsome (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports. Newsome was able to return to last Sunday's game against the Titans after sustaining the shoulder injury, meaning the cornerback will likely play through it for Sunday's playoff game against the Bills. The 25-year-old will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation in the hopes of dodging an injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest.

  • Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Returns to game

Newsome (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's game against the Titans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Newsome briefly left in the first half of Sunday's game with a shoulder injury, and after being tended to by trainers, he was cleared to return. The 25-year-old has 28 tackles (23 solo) and one interception through 16 games this season.

  • Jaguars' Greg Newsome: Leaves game with shoulder injury

Newsome (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Titans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Newsome is being evaluated by medical staff for a shoulder injury to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. With Keith Taylor (coach's decision) inactive, Christian Braswell would be in line for more snaps at outside corner for as long as Newsome is out of the game.
