  • Bills' Darnell Savage: Scooped up by Buffalo

The Bills claimed Savage off waivers from the Commanders on Friday. The veteran safety was waived by the Commanders on Thursday after being a healthy scratch for their Week 13 overtime loss to the Broncos. Savage gives the Bills added depth in the secondary, which is needed after Darius Slay -- whom Buffalo claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on Wednesday -- refused to report to team facilities. Across 10 regular-season games with the Commanders (eight games) and the Jaguars (two games), Savage has accumulated 16 tackles (10 solo), two pass defenses and one forced fumble.

  • Commanders' Bobby Wagner: Questionable after limited session

Wagner (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. Wagner was able to log a limited practice session Friday after being a non-participant earlier in the week. The upgrade in participation is a good sign for the veteran's chances of suiting up for Sunday's game. If the middle linebacker is unable to go, 24-year-old Jordan Magee is set to have a larger role in the linebacker corps Sunday.

  • Commanders' Bobby Wagner: Questionable for Week 14

Wagner (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Vikings, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Wagner opened the Commanders' week of practice with consecutive DNPs after likely sustaining a knee injury in the Week 13 loss to the Broncos. The 35-year-old has been integral part of the Commanders' defense, recording 115 total tackles (fourth-most in the NFL), including 2.0 sacks, and three passes defensed, with two interceptions, across 12 appearances this season. If he's forced to miss his first game of the year in Week 14, expect Jordan Magee to have a larger role in Washington's linebacker corps.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Doesn't practice after activation

Jackson (knee) didn't participate in practice Thursday. On the same day the Commanders activated Jackson from IR, the fourth-year defensive end remained sidelined at practice. Washington waited until the last day of Jackson's 21-day practice window to activate him, so it seems both that the team expects him to play again this season and that Jackson's ramp-up is going slowly. With that and his consecutive DNPs this week in mind, it doesn't seem likely that Jackson will be ready to return to action Sunday versus Minnesota, though his status should be more clear upon the release of Friday's injury report.

  • Commanders' Frankie Luvu: Upgrades to full practice Thursday

Luvu (shoulder) was a full practice participant Thursday. Luvu has been dealing with a shoulder issue since mid-November but hasn't missed any games due to the injury. He was limited in practice Wednesday, but his ability to log a full session Thursday suggests the veteran linebacker will be ready to line up in his usual starting role against the Vikings on Sunday.

  • Commanders' Bobby Wagner: Logs another DNP

Wagner (knee) did not practice Thursday. It's the second straight DNP to begin Week 14 prep for Wagner, so there's some concern about his ability to suit up Sunday against Minnesota. Still, Wagner could improve his outlook for that contest considerably if he's able to return to practice Friday. Wagner has played every defensive snap in all but one of Washington's games to date and has the fourth-most total tackles in the NFL, so it would be a big blow to the Commanders' defense if he ends up having to sit out against the Vikings.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Activated from IR

Jackson (knee) was activated from injured reserve Thursday. The Commanders announced Nov. 13 that Jackson's 21-day window to return from IR had opened, and the team appears to have waited until the last possible moment to fulfill their obligation to activate him. The defensive end was a non-participant Wednesday and has struggled to consistently practice during the return window in general. The activation seems to imply Jackson will be ready soon, but his status for Week 14 is still up in the air.

  • Darnell Savage: Let go by Washington

The Commanders waived Savage on Thursday. Savage was a healthy scratch for the Commanders' Week 13 loss to the Broncos. The organization granted the safety's request for release Thursday, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports. Savage will now go on waivers and will become a free agent if he goes unclaimed.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Jackson (knee) didn't participate in Washington's practice Wednesday. Jackson was back on the sideline despite having returned to practice last week. The 24-year-old was designated to return from injured reserve Nov. 13, but the team has yet to officially activate him. Once healthy, Jackson should serve as one of the team's top reserve defensive ends.

  • Commanders' Frankie Luvu: Sits out Wednesday's practice

Luvu (shoulder) didn't participate in Washington's practice Wednesday. Luvu managed to play through his shoulder injury in the Week 13 loss to the Broncos, so his absence from practice is likely precautionary. The 29-year-old has totaled 62 tackles (29 solo), including 3.0 sacks, across 12 outings and will look to add to his totals in Sunday's game versus Minnesota.

  • Commanders' Bobby Wagner: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Wagner (knee) didn't participate in Washington's practice Wednesday. Wagner popped up on the injury report Wednesday, though it's currently unclear when he hurt his knee. The 35-year-old's availability in practice Thursday and Friday will provide more clarity toward his status for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

  • Commanders' Bobby Wagner: Picks off pass in overtime loss

Wagner finished Sunday's overtime loss to Denver with eight tackles (three solo) and an interception. Wagner paced Washington in stops in the loss, and he's now recorded at least seven tackles in all 12 of the team's contests this season. The veteran linebacker also notched his second pickoff of the campaign when he intercepted Bo Nix on the third play of the fourth quarter. Wagner has shown no signs of slowing down in his 14th NFL season, recording 115 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) and three defensed passes (including the pair of picks).

  • Commanders' Will Harris: Looks ready for return

Harris (ankle) was activated from injured reserve and does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. Harris has been sidelined since Week 3 with a fractured fibula. He has been practicing for over two weeks after being designated to return, and it appears he's in line to be active Sunday night. Harris should serve in a starting role at safety.

  • Commanders' Will Harris: Questionable for Week 13

Harris (ankle) is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Broncos, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Harris remains on injured reserve after his 21-day practice window was opened 16 days ago, but it appears as if Harris has a good chance to suit up for Week 13 after he was a full participant in practice all week.

  • Commanders' Frankie Luvu: Cleared to play Week 13

Luvu (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday night's game against the Broncos, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports. Luvu was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but got in a full session Friday. The veteran linebacker has recorded 58 tackles (28 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and three pass breakups on 96 percent of the defensive snaps this season.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Out for Week 13

Jackson (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. The USC product will not make his 2025 debut Sunday and will remain on the injured reserve list through Week 13. Jackson's last in-game action came with the 49ers in 2023, when he recorded seven total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and one pass defensed over just eight regular-season games. Once fully healthy, he'll likely operate as one of Washington's top reserve defensive ends.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Scales back practice reps Thursday

Jackson (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Jackson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice but was not given the same workload during Thursday's session. It could've been a maintenance day for the fourth-year defensive end, who is recovering from a knee injury that caused him to be placed on injured reserve in mid-October. He'll need to be activated from IR in order to play Sunday against the Broncos.

  • Commanders' Drake Jackson: Logs full practice

Jackson (knee) logged a full practice Wednesday. Jackson hasn't appeared in a game since 2023 while recovering from a significant knee injury. This was his first full session since having his practice window opened, though his status for a Week 13 matchup against the Broncos remains unclear.

  • Commanders' Ale Kaho: Returns to full practice

Kaho (concussion) logged a full practice Wednesday. Kaho was sidelined by a concussion in Week 11 against Miami. With a bye week to recover, he appears to be in line to return to action in Week 13 against the Broncos.

  • Commanders' Frankie Luvu: Limited to begin week

Luvu (shoulder) logged a limited practice Wednesday. Luvu began preparation for a Week 11 matchup against the Dolphins in similar fashion but was ultimately able to suit up. That suggests he'll be able to play Sunday night against the Broncos, though his status should become clearer as the week progresses.
