Paul Dawson: Cut by Seahwawks
Dawson was waived by the Seahawks on Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
After being promoted from the practice squad, Dawson saw action in the final three games of the season for the Seahawks, recording three total tackles. The majority of his time was spent on special teams, which likely would be the case again if he resurfaces elsewhere in the league. Dawson could find himself stuck on a practice squad once again if he can't land a 53-man roster spot with another team prior to the regular season.

Seahawks' Paul Dawson: Inks deal to stay with Seattle
Dawson re-signed with the Seahawks on Monday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of SeattlePI.com reports.
Dawson appeared in just three games during his first season with Seattle last season. It's unlikely the TCU product will take on any substantial role in 2018, but a reserve spot at outside linebacker seems probable at the moment.

Seahawks' Paul Dawson: Added to Seattle's roster
The Seahawks promoted Dawson from their practice squad Wednesday.
Dawson's addition provides some much-needed depth at linebacker with K.J. Wright (concussion) and Bobby Wagner (hamstring) both uncertain to play Sunday against the Rams. Even if one or both players are sidelined, it's unlikely that Dawson would log substantial defensive snaps during the contest, as D.J. Alexander and Terence Garvin would be the more likely candidates to earn promotions into the starting lineup.

Bengals' Paul Dawson: Sees the field Friday
Dawson (arm) played on special teams in Friday's 27-10 preseason win over the Ravens.
Dawson appeared to be past the arm injury that had hindered him in practice early on in training camp. His lack of defensive snaps isn't a positive sign in terms of his odds of making the team. He spent last season on the team's practice squad and could be in line for another year as a depth option in 2017.

Bengals' Paul Dawson: Sits out practice Thursday
Dawson missed practice Thursday due to an arm injury, Jay Morrison of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Dawson was seen walking around the practice field with his right arm in a sling. It's unclear what the exact issue is but he could potentially be in for a long-term absence. As it is now he's without a return timetable.

Bengals' Paul Dawson: Promoted to active roster
Dawson was promoted to the active roster Friday.
Dawson was likely signed as a result of Vontaze Burfict (concussion) and Vincent Rey (hamstring) being questionable for Saturday's game against Houston, which could've left Cincinnati with as few as four active linebackers for the game. Dawson will likely just provide depth and isn't expected to get much playing time.

P.J. Dawson: Surprise cut by the Bengals
Dawson, who was drafted in the third round in 2015 by the Bengals, was surprisingly cut by the team amongst their final cuts.
The Bengals wanted to make room for a third quarterback when they claimed Jeff Driskell from the Niners. Dawson had 12 tackles in his rookie season last year, suiting up in only 11 games. It's a rare early-round miss for the Bengals, who have drafted well the last few years defensively.
