Sean Davis: Works out with Arizona
The Cardinals tried out Davis on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Davis appears to be healthy once again after leaving in the first half of the Patriots' regular-season finale against Miami with a shoulder injury. The 28-year-old safety played five games between three teams (Cincinnati, Indianapolis and New England) last season, but he never registered a single defensive statistic over 35 total snaps.

Davis suffered the injury in the first half. With Kyle Dugger (hand) out, Davis was active to help provide depth at safety. Justin Bethel will likely see extra work until Davis can return.

Davis reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday, according to the NFL transactions log.
Davis was promoted prior the team's Week 3 win over the Steelers. He played primarily on special teams but did also take the field for six defensive snaps. Davis did not record any stats.

Davis spent the preseason with the Colts, but he failed to make the initial 53-man roster and landed on the Bengals' practice squad. He spent the 2020 campaign with the Steelers and appeared in 16 contests, mostly contributing on special teams.

Colts' Sean Davis: Signing with Colts
Davis has agreed to a one-year deal with the Colts, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Davis, who entered the league as a 2016 second-round pick by the Steelers, will provide the Colts with added safety depth. Though the 27-year-old logged starter snaps during his first three NFL seasons, he was largely used in a special teams role by Pittsburgh in 2020 en route to recording 12 tackles.

Davis was released by Washington on Saturday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
The transaction clears the way for Troy Apke to start at safety opposite Landon Collins. Davis signed a one-year contract with Washington all the way back in March with the intent on securing a starting safety spot, but he'll have to find a different path to a team's top unit. A two-year starter with the Steelers back in 2017 and 2018, it'd be a bit surprising if Davis doesn't end up on a roster, even if it's under the guise of depth along the secondary.

Davis signed a contract with the Steelers on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Davis was waived by Washington on Saturday after signing a one-year contract with the club in March. The veteran was a two-year starter with the Steelers in 2017 and 2018, respectively, but likely will assume a depth role in 2020. The Steelers have both Terrell Edmunds (undisclosed) and Minkah Fitzpatrick penciled in as starters at safety, so, from a fantasy perspective, don't expect much production from a fantasy perspective from Davis.

Redskins' Sean Davis: Leaves Pittsburgh for Washington
Davis (shoulder) agreed Wednesday with Washington on a one-year, $5 million contract, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
A 2016 second-round pick, Davis started 41 games over his first three seasons with the Steelers but spent most of 2019 on injured reserve when he suffered a torn labrum in Week 2. The Steelers traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick shortly thereafter, ensuring that Davis would need to sign elsewhere to find a starting job. It isn't entirely clear he'll be a starter in Washington, but he should at least get a chance to compete for the spot next to Landon Collins. Other options for the role include Montae Nicholson (neck) and Troy Apke (knee).

Steelers' Sean Davis: Plays just one game all season
Davis finished the 2019 season on injured reserve with a torn labrum.
A torn labrum in his right shoulder sent Davis to IR after only one game -- in which he recorded five tackles. Even if he is healthy, the acquisition of Minkah Fitzpatrick relegates Davis -- an unrestricted free agent -- to a backup role for 2020 if he returns to the Steelers.

Davis (shoulder) has no official timetable for his recovery, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Davis landed on injured reserve in mid-September with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, and coach Mike Tomlin indicated there's been no discussion about him returning from IR since he "isn't close enough yet." The 26-year-old likely would fill a depth role in the secondary if he's able to return, with the acquisition of Minkah Fitzpatrick solidifying the safety position.
