Cody Davis: Hangs up cleats
Davis announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday, Chris Mason of Masslive.com reports.
Davis played 11 NFL seasons, spending five years with the Rams, two with the Jaguars and the final four of his career with the Patriots. The 34-year-old primarily played on special teams and hadn't played a defensive snap since 2020. He'll finish his career with 118 combined tackles, two interceptions and three fumbles recovered.

Patriots' Cody Davis: Active Sunday
Davis (knee) is active ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills.
The career special-teamer will make his 2023 debut after beginning the season on the team's reserve/PUP list with a knee issue. Davis has recorded 113 total tackles throughout his 10-year NFL career, and he's expected to continue making a difference for New England's special teams unit this Sunday.

Davis remains on the reserve-PUP list, which gives New England a 21-day window to activate him to the team's active roster now that he's resumed practicing, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. The 34-year-old safety has appeared in 133 games throughout his 10-year career, recording 113 tackles, eight pass deflections and two interceptions.

Davis was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Week 6 versus the Browns and is officially done for the season. The safety will finish his year with six tackles while playing 106 snaps with the special-teams unit.
