Carlos Henderson: Waived by Washington
Henderson was waived by the Redskins on Tuesday, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
Henderson signed with the Redskins just over a week ago and is now back on the market. The third-round pick from 2017 has been a disappointment in his first two seasons, failing to see the field in a regular-season game. He'll look to catch on with another club in 2019.

Carlos Henderson: Let go by Denver
Henderson was released from the Broncos' practice squad Thursday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Henderson signed with the Broncos' practice squad after being waived by the team before the start of the regular season. Since he spent his entire rookie season in 2017 on injured reserve, Henderson is yet to play a snap in the regular season despite being a third-round pick. Henderson's struggles in his personal life are what likely led to his release, and with that, it may be difficult for the wideout to find another opportunity in the NFL at this time.

Carlos Henderson: Signed to Denver's practice squad
Henderson (suspension) is joining Denver's practice squad, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Henderson's status as a 2017 third-round pick wasn't enough to keep him on the 53-man roster, but the Broncos do want to take another look before completely cutting ties. The 23-year-old spent his entire rookie season on IR with a torn thumb ligament, then had an interesting offseason that included an arrest, a hamstring injury and a lengthy absence from training camp for personal reasons. The arrest led to a one-game suspension from the NFL.

Carlos Henderson: Waived by Broncos
The Broncos waived Henderson (suspension) on Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
A third-round pick of the Broncos in 2017, Henderson spent his entire rookie season on IR due to a torn thumb ligament. After the campaign, he was arrested Jan. 14 for possession of a controlled substance, which incurred a one-game suspension from the NFL. Hurting his cause further was failing to report to Denver until Aug. 21. The wideout may have to prove that his personal life is in order before he receives another opportunity in the league.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Reports to team facility
Henderson (suspension) reported to the Broncos on Tuesday, Troy Renck of ABC 7 Denver reports.
The 2017 third-round pick is in a precarious spot after missing his entire rookie season with a torn thumb ligament. A January arrest for possession of a controlled substance led to a one-game suspension, and he missed all of training camp while stepping away from the team to deal with personal/family issues. In between, Henderson was limited by a hamstring injury during the offseason program, prompting coach Vance Joseph to say that the second-year wideout needed to earn his roster spot. Henderson has probably made a full recovery from the hamstring injury by now, but he's still on the reserve/exempt list and may not have a place with the Broncos anymore. He said Tuesday that he's working on gaining clearance to practice with the team.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Suspended for Week 1
Henderson (personal, hamstring) will be suspended for Week 1 for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
After missing his entire rookie season with a thumb injury, Henderson was arrested in January for possession of a controlled substance. He then dealt with a hamstring injury during the offseason program and ultimately was placed on the reserve/exempt list for the start of training camp due to an unspecified personal issue. He has yet to rejoin the Broncos, while rookie wideouts Courtland Sutton (knee) and DaeSean Hamilton both seem to be making a good impression at camp. Despite getting drafted in the third round last year, Henderson likely is in danger of being released before Week 1.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Missing camp for personal issue
Henderson (hamstring) will start training camp on the reserve/exempt list while tending to a personal issue, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
The 2017 third-round pick missed all of last season with a torn ligament in his thumb, then watched the Broncos draft wide receivers in the second (Courtland Sutton) and fourth (DaeSean Hamilton) rounds of April's draft. Making matters worse, Henderson missed June minicamp with a hamstring injury, prompting Broncos head coach Vance Joseph to say that the second-year wideout is on the roster bubble. Now dealing with an unspecified off-field problem, Henderson won't be around for the start of training camp.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Dealing with hamstring discomfort
Henderson is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Broncos head coach Vance Joseph wouldn't guarantee Wednesday that the second-year wideout will earn a spot on the final roster, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. "He's got to get back on the field if he wants to make this team," Joseph said of Henderson.
Henderson was stuck with the second unit during OTAs even though Demaryius Thomas (foot) and Emmanuel Sanders weren't participating. Rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton worked ahead of Henderson, suggesting the 2017 third-round pick is buried on the depth chart. Joseph's quote furthers the notion that Henderson hasn't made progress in his quest for finding a role within the Denver offense after missing his entire rookie season with a thumb ligament injury.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Still buried on depth chart
Despite Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders resting, Henderson remained with the second unit during OTAs, Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official site reports.
Rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton worked with starting quarterback Case Keenum during the session, along with 2017 fifth-round pick Isaiah McKenzie. Henderson missed his entire rookie season with a thumb injury, so he should be expected to be a little behind the curve. It'd also be somewhat surprising to see Denver cut a player as talented in the open field as Henderson without seeing him in regular-season play. That said, Henderson, McKenzie and Jordan Taylor are likely competing for just one or two roster spots. If Henderson doesn't make moves this summer, his job could be in jeopardy. Look for his abilities as a returner to be a factor.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Faces fight for targets, roster spot?
Henderson's (thumb) roster spot might be in jeopardy after Denver's draft additions of Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton, according to Troy Renck of Denver 7 ABC.
The Broncos made it clear during the draft that increased depth and production from the wide receiver spot was necessary in helping quarterback Case Keenum relive his Minnesota magic. The question is whom this pushes out, though upon close review, it seems unlikely to be Henderson, a 2017 third-round pick who missed all of his rookie season to a thumb injury. Though he struggled in camp, Henderson led the nation in receiving touchdowns in 2016 and is a skilled returner. It would seem foolhardy to discard a player like that without ever seeing him on the field. The likelier scenario: Henderson may have to fight for complementary targets while Sutton and Hamilton help replace the departed Bennie Fowler and Cody Latimer. This would push 2017 fifth-round pick Isaiah McKenzie and Jordan Taylor in 2018 while Sutton and Hamilton are potentially groomed to take Demaryius Thomas' and Emmanuel Sanders' jobs in 2019 or 2020.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Will be challenged heading into training camp
Henderson (thumb) will have to compete to earn a starting role in Denver, Mike Klis of 9news.com reports.
What a difference one month makes. Prior to the draft, it looked as if Henderson was in good shape to carve out a role as the team's No. 3 wideout. Following the draft, it's a different story. With Denver seemingly having only drafted wide receivers, Henderson will need to compete to earn his stay. As of now, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton all appear to have cemented spots heading into training camp.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: In mix for No. 3 role
Henderson (thumb) could compete for the No. 3 receiver job, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
A 2017 third-round selection, Henderson missed his entire rookie season while recovering from surgery on a torn thumb ligament, and then was arrested in January for possession of a controlled substance. Broncos general manager John Elway said the team is still excited about the young wideout, hoping he can earn a key spot on a depth chart that lacks proven talent behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. With Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler and Jordan Taylor all uncertain to be back with the team, Henderson may end up competing with rookies and/or offseason additions for the No. 3 job. Of course, the Broncos will need to land a major upgrade at quarterback if said role is going to have much relevance in the fantasy world. Moreover, a suspension stemming from his aforementioned legal troubles could negatively impact Henderson's bid for the job.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Headed for injured reserve
The Broncos are placing Henderson (thumb) on injured reserve, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
A 2017 third-round pick, Henderson missed the final two preseason games and likely would've been buried on the depth chart to start the year. Rather than using a roster spot on a developmental player, Denver will take advantage of the thumb issue to stash Henderson on injured reserve. Henderson may need surgery, in which case he'd miss extended time even if he hadn't been placed on IR.

Broncos' Carlos Henderson: Sits out preseason contest
Henderson (thumb) didn't play during Saturday's preseason victory over the 49ers.
Henderson is still recovering from surgery earlier this month to address a torn ligament in his thumb, and given that he has yet to return to practice, it's possible that he could miss the Broncos' final two preseason tilts. The Broncos are deep at receiver and Henderson was struggling to fit into the offense even when he was healthy earlier in camp, so the third-round pick isn't a safe bet to make a meaningful impact as a rookie. With Cody Latimer and Kalif Raymond also viable options to return kicks for the Broncos, the team doesn't seem likely to rush Henderson back before he's 100 percent healthy.
