John Brown: Moves back to practice squad
Brown reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Brown made his fourth appearance of the season for Buffalo during Sunday's wild-card win over Miami. The veteran wideout was sparingly used on offense over his previous three games, though he saw his most significant usage of the season in this postseason tilt, playing 21 of the Bills' 74 offensive snaps behind Stefon Diggs (59), Gabe Davis (56), Cole Beasley (31) and Khalil Shakir (30) with slot receiver Isaiah McKenzie (hamstring) inactive. Brown logged one target with a deep shot to the end zone down the right side, but the pass was intercepted by Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard. The 32-year-old Brown could stand to see additional, albeit limited, playing time if McKenzie remains sidelined against Cincinnati this coming Sunday.

Bills' John Brown: Playoff opportunity ahead
Brown was elevated from the Bills' practice squad Saturday.
The Bills have six wideouts that are now eligible to suit up in Sunday's playoff opener against the Dolphins, but Brown is likely to be one of them given his playoff experience coupled with the fact he caught a long TD pass last week, his first catch since the 2020 season.

John Brown: Returns to practice squad
Brown reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Brown capped off his third practice-squad elevation of the season with a bang. The 32-year-old wideout's six offensive snaps were the lowest of any Bills receiver Week 18, though he capitalized when he caught a 42-yard touchdown pass deep down the right sideline late in the third quarter. This was just Brown's second target of the season and his first reception since the 2020 campaign. He should continue to serve as a deep reserve option for Buffalo so long as wideouts Jake Kumerow (ankle) and Jamison Crowder (ankle) remain on IR during the upcoming playoffs.

Bills' John Brown: Called up for regular-season finale
The Bills elevated Brown from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Brown will be elevated from Buffalo's practice squad for the third time this season with wideouts Jake Kumerow (ankle) and Jamison Crowder (ankle) both still on IR. The 32-year-old Brown logged one target over 15 offensive snaps across his previous two appearances this season, so it's unlikely he'll see a significant workload unless Buffalo opts to rest top wideouts Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and/or Isaiah McKenzie during the second half of this Week 18 contest, perhaps unlikely with the Bills playing for the No. 2 seed, unless the game starts to get out of hand.
