Giants' Todd Davis: Calls it a career
The Giants announced Tuesday that Davis has been placed on the reserve/retired list.
Davis' impressive career began with him as a UDFA back in 2014, but by 2016 he had carved out what would become a four-year starting role in Denver. During Davis' time with the Broncos, he was part of the Super Bowl 50 championship team. The inside linebacker also led Denver in tackles from 2018-19.

Giants' Todd Davis: Signs with Giants
Davis signed a contract with the Giants on Saturday.
Davis racked up 35 total tackles in 11 games for Minnesota last year but remained unsigned throughout the offseason. He'll provide veteran depth in camp for New York while competing for a roster spot.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Ends first season with Vikings
Davis ended his 2020 season generating 35 tackles (16 solo) and one sack in 11 games.
After the Broncos cut him loose at the end of training camp, Davis wasn't called upon until the Vikings had a need for linebacker depth in late September. Aside from a midseason stretch on the reserve/COVID-19 list, he served primarily on special teams until Eric Kendricks injured his calf during pregame warmups Week 13. Over the last five games, Davis appeared in four of them, notching most of his tackles (29) on the season. As an unrestricted free agent this offseason, he'll look for a similar gig to what he had down the stretch.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Good to go Sunday
Davis (ribs) was a full participant in practice Friday and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Lions.
Davis logged limited practice sessions earlier in the week, but he'll be available Sunday to provide depth at linebacker during Eric Kendricks' (calf) continued absence.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Held back during practice
Davis (ribs) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice.
This is a meaningful step in the right direction after Davis missed every practice last week. The 28-year-old linebacker could return to action for the season finale against the Lions, otherwise, Ryan Connelly likely will step in at weak-side linebacker.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Not playing Friday
Davis (ribs) is inactive for Friday's Christmas Day clash against the Saints.
Davis did not practice at all this week, so his inability to take the field Friday does not come as a surprise. Minnesota's linebacker corps will be perilously thin with Troy Dye (concussion/hamstring) and Eric Kendricks (calf) also inactive.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Doubtful for Christmas Day clash
Davis (ribs) did not practice this week and is listed as doubtful for Friday's matchup against the Saints.
Davis has been filling in for Eric Kendricks (calf) -- who will remain sidellned this week -- but appears unlikely to play following three consecutive DNPs. That would leave the Vikings' linebacker corps in a tough spot against Alvin Kamara and the Saints on Christmas Day.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Misses second straight practice
Davis (ribs) did not practice Wednesday.
Davis will only have one more opportunity to upgrade his practice reps before the Vikings tag him with an injury designation. With Eric Kendricks (calf) also still not practicing, Minnesota's linebacker corps could be left deeply depleted heading into a Christmas Day matchup against the Saints if Davis is forced to miss time.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Generates 11 stops
Davis made 11 tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Jaguars.
With Eric Kendricks (calf) being ruled out moments before kickoff, Davis started Week 13 and played every snap for the first time this year. The 28-year-old linebacker came through on the increased opportunity, ringing up double-digit stops for the first time this season. Kendricks could sit out again in the Week 14 showdown against Tampa Bay, making Davis a solid substitute in IDP fantasy formats.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Back from COVID list
Davis (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
The 28-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 in late October and has since been on the reserve list, but he's been cleared to rejoin the active roster. Davis was filling a rotational role at linebacker and should reclaim those snaps.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Tests positive for COVID-19
Davis (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday and will not suit up for Sunday's game in Green Bay, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Davis' placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list paves the way for rookie Troy Dye (foot) to start against the Packers if he's officially activated from IR. The Vikings don't usually field three linebackers at once, with Eric Kendricks and Eric Wilson occupying near every-down roles, so Davis' absence may not have the defensive impact that losing a starter normally would.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Gets start but little prodution
Davis had one total tackle and played 11 of the defense's 54 snaps in Sunday's loss at Seattle.
Davis started at strong-side linebacker, but the Vikings rarely had three linebackers on the field. Eric Kendricks and Eric Wilson stay on the field in nickel and dime packages, leaving Davis with little playing time. However, Davis looks to have emerged as the No. 3 linebacker after the season-ending injury to Anthony Barr.

Vikings' Todd Davis: Inks deal with Vikings
Davis signed a one-year deal with the Vikings on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Davis was a starter for the past four seasons in Denver, most recently racking up a career-best 134 combined tackles in the 2019 campaign -- his second consecutive 100-tackle season. His release was largely a cap-related move, so signing the 28-year-old could pay huge dividends for a Minnesota team looking to add linebacker depth following the loss of Anthony Barr (pectoral). It's unclear if Davis will be active for Week 3 against Tennessee given the extremely short turnaround, but he's still a player that could end up on the IDP radar in the near future.
