  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Not returning this week

Head coach Mike McDaniel said Thursday that Chubb (knee) won't be activated from the PUP list ahead of Monday's game against the Rams, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

McDaniel expressed optimism earlier in the week that Chubb might be able to get back onto the practice field this week, but the edge rusher will apparently require more rehab time. Emmanuel Ogbah, Chop Robinson and Tyus Bowser will continue to serve as Miami's primary edge rushers in Week 10.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Nearing return to practice

Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that he was optimistic Chubb (knee) would be able to return to practice during the week, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

McDaniel was careful not to make any definitive guarantees to reporters Monday, but it's an encouraging sign in any case for Chubb, who has missed the first nine games of the 2024 season as he's rehabbed from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 17 of last season. The Dolphins' first official practice report of the week Thursday will give more insight into his potential availability for Week 10.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Return date still murky

Head coach Mike McDaniel stated Monday that Chubb (knee) coming off the PUP list isn't "on his radar right now," Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports.

Chubb has been on the shelf since suffering an ACL tear in Week 17 last season and seems to have no definitive return timeline. However, McDaniel did note that Chubb is "going to continue to work to get back sooner than later." With a return unlikely for Sunday's game against Buffalo, his next potential debut date would be Week 10 against the Rams.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Unlikely to play at Indy

Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that he doesn't expect Chubb (knee) to return from the Dolphins' PUP list in Week 7, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Even with the benefit of a bye in Week 6, it looks like Chubb is going to have to wait at least one more game to make his 2024 season debut. Miami figures to square off against the Colts with Emmanuel Ogbah and rookie Chop Robinson as its top edge rushers.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Without return timetable

Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver said Friday that Chubb (knee, PUP) remains without a timetable for return, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Chubb is eligible to come off the reserve/PUP list next week, but it sounds like that's not going to happen. The 28-year-old edge rusher tore his ACL in Week 17 last season but has been taking part in defensive and positional meetings this season. Weaver said he does "feel" Chubb will play at some point this season. Jaelan Phillips, Emmanuel Ogbah and rookie Chop Robinson have paced Miami in pass-rushing snaps off the edge through three weeks.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Officially moved to PUP list

Chubb (knee) was placed on the Dolphins' reserve/PUP list Tuesday.

Chubb continues to work his way through an ACL tear he suffered in Week 17 against the Ravens last season. He'll be forced to miss the first four games of the regular season, and the earliest he can return is Week 5 against the Patriots on Oct. 6. Across 16 regular-season games in 2023, Chubb posted 45 tackles (28 solo), including 11.0 sacks, two passes defended, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Quinton Bell and Emmanuel Ogbah are the top candidates to receive extended playing time alongside Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) for as long as Chubb is sidelined.

  • Dolphins' Bradley Chubb: Will miss start of season

Chubb (knee) will remain on the PUP list to start the season, head coach Mike McDaniel stated Monday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Chubb has been on the active/PUP list since camp opened as he continues to work his way back from an ACL tear suffered in Week 17 last season. His extended stay on the PUP list will force him to miss at least the first four games of the 2024 campaign, although it's not clear if he'll be healthy enough to return at that point.
