Cannon signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys on Monday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Cannon joined the Cowboys' practice squad in late December after an uneventful 2017 season. The 22-year-old will have the benefit of being in Dallas' offseason program as he turns the page on a quiet rookie season.

The Cowboys signed Cannon to their practice squad Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
After a productive three-year career at Baylor, Cannon declared for the 2017 NFL Draft, only to go unpicked in April. He was unable to parlay stints with the 49ers and Rams into a roster spot prior to the season, but Cannon's entry into the Cowboys' organization will afford him another opportunity to make an impression during Dallas' offseason program.

Cannon has a chance to make the team if he can fine-tune his routes. The athletic receiver boasts impressive speed and racked up 195 receptions over three seasons at Baylor, but his fundamentals are a work in progress.

KD Cannon: Released by Jets
Cannon was released by the Jets on Friday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Chris Gragg was added in a corresponding roster move. The 21-year-old Cannon will look for another opportunity elsewhere. The Jets already had 15 wide receivers on their roster, so there is likely a more advantageous situation out there.
