The 2015 seventh-round pick has seen the field for one game thus far in his debut campaign for the Falcons, fielding 16 defensive snaps and 10 special-teams snaps in a 30-26 loss to Chicago during Week 3. Starting linebacker Foyesade Oluokun was back in the lineup Week 4 after sitting out the loss to the Bears with a hamstring injury, but he also dealt with an oblique injury early this week before returning to full practice Thursday. Robinson has been moved to the practice squad from the Falcons' active roster, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The 28-year-old last received an NFL snap in 2017, when he was a member of the Jets, but with Foyesade Oluokun (hamstring) unable to suit up for Week 3, Atlanta was left searching for a competent replacement at linebacker. Robinson fielded 20 percent of the defensive snaps against Chicago, plus an additional 30 percent of the special-teams work, while Mykal Walker (88 percent) and Deion Jones (93 percent) got the majority of the reps at linebacker. Robinson will reside on the practice squad unless injuries or ineffectiveness affect players on the active roster.

Falcons' Edmond Robinson: Expected to join Falcons
Robinson is signing with the Falcons, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Wilson reported Friday morning that a league source had said Robinson was joining the Falcons. A subsequent report from the Athletic's Jason Butt clarified the official offer had not yet been presented because of a "slight technicality". Though the final terms of the deal have yet to be nailed down, the former Vikings and Houston Roughnecks linebacker is expected to officially join Atlanta in the near future. Considering the linebacker corps is very thin for the Falcons at the moment, Robinson should be able to compete for a roster spot this summer.
