Jefferson (back) is trending toward being cleared to play Sunday against the Chiefs, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Jefferson sustained a back injury during the Titans' Week 15 loss to the 49ers. The sixth-year wideout posted a DNP-LP-FP practice log during Week 16 prep, and while he's listed as questionable for Sunday's game, Jefferson is trending in the right direction. Over his last nine games, Jefferson has caught 20 passes (on 43 targets) for 256 yards and one touchdown.

Jefferson (back) practiced fully Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Jefferson trended in the right direction throughout the week, going from a non-participant Wednesday to limited Thursday before Friday's full session. Jefferson exited Sunday's 37-24 loss to the 49ers with a back injury after logging 31snaps, and the wideout will now has two more chances to practice in advance of this weekend's contest against the Chiefs. If Jefferson -- who has caught 24 passes for 280 yards and a TD in 14 contests to date -- is unavailable in Week 16, added snaps behind Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike would be available for James Proche and Mason Kinsey.

The wide receiver caught one pass for 43 yards on five targets before exiting. Jefferson tied for second on the team in targets for the game. At the moment, he is Tennessee's third receiver behind Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, so his status will be worth monitoring as the practice week begins.

Jefferson caught three passes on seven targets for 22 yards and a touchdown during the Titans' 16-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
Jefferson was thrust into a bigger role on offense following injuries to Calvin Ridley (fibula), Elic Ayomanor (hamstring) and Chimere Dike (chest). Jefferson ended up leading the Titans pass catchers with seven targets and helped tie the game at 13-13 late in the fourth quarter, when he hauled in a four-yard touchdown pass from Cam Ward. Ridley is out for the rest of the season due to a broken fibula, and Jefferson could be thrust into the Titans' WR1 role against the Seahawks in Week 12 if Ayomanor and Dike are unable to play.

Jefferson maintained a significant role in the Tennessee offense with Calvin Ridley (hamstring) sidelined. Jefferson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, while Calvin Ridley (hamstring) has been ruled out, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Jefferson upgraded to full practice participation Friday after a pair of limited sessions to gain clearance. He took on a larger role after Ridley got hurt in the Week 6 loss to the Raiders, as Jefferson finished with four catches for 75 yards. Jefferson likely will start on the outside opposite Elic Ayomanor against a Patriots secondary that's allowing 146 receiving yards per game to wide receivers.

Just like Wednesday, Jefferson practiced in limited fashion while Calvin Ridley (hamstring) didn't participate in practice. With Ridley trending toward sitting out Sunday against the Patriots, Jefferson has a nice opportunity to take on a larger role, assuming the latter can play through his own injury concerns.
