49ers' Chase Lucas: Headed to San Francisco
The 49ers signed Lucas to a one-year deal Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The 2022 seventh-round pick spent the first two seasons of his career with the Lions, but he's now found a new home in San Francisco. Lucas primarily served as a member of the special-teams units in Detroit, playing a total of 311 snaps (305 on special teams) and recording four tackles across the last two years. He's expected to compete for a similar role in San Francisco this offseason.

Lucas injured his hamstring back in December and ended up spending the remainder of the 2022 campaign on injured reserve, but he now seems to be healthy. The Lions designated Lucas (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
Lucas, who's missed each of Detroit's last four contests while on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue, had his 21-day elevation window opened following his return to Wednesday's practice. Unless both the Lions and Seahawks win their respective matchups this weekend, the Week 18 contest versus Green Bay would be the rookie's last chance to suit up this year.
