Jalen Virgil: Back with practice squad
Virgil reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Virgil was elevated to the active roster ahead of Week 8 versus the Seahawks, making his team debut in the team's 31-10 win. The wide receiver failed to produce any stats while playing 11 of the team's 76 offensive snaps and 10 snaps on special teams. Virgil can be elevated two more times before he'd have to be signed to the 53-man roster.

Bills' Jalen Virgil: Elevated from practice squad
Buffalo elevated Virgil from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Virgil could get a chance to make his Bills debut during Sunday's game against the Seahawks. The depth wideout could also be a candidate to see some utilization in the return game for Buffalo, if needed.

Jalen Virgil: Catches on with Bills' taxi squad
Buffalo signed Virgil to its practice squad Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Virgil missed the entire 2023 season due to a torn meniscus. He entered training camp fully healthy, but he was unable to make the Broncos' 53-man roster after posting just one catch (on four targets) for 13 yards across Denver's three preseason games. Virgil did get some reps as a kick returner during the preseason -- he turned three kick returns into 88 yards against the Colts on Aug. 11 -- and he could get called up to the Bills' active roster at some point during the season to fill that role if needed.

Jalen Virgil: Cut by Denver
The Broncos waived Virgil on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2022, Virgil appeared in nine games as a rookie, finishing with two catches for 75 yards and one touchdown on five targets. He missed all of 2023 with a torn meniscus and now will look for an opportunity elsewhere should he clear waivers. Virgil caught one pass for 13 yards this preseason.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Ready to compete again
Virgil is fully recovered from surgery to repair a torn meniscus suffered in the Broncos' second preseason game last year and which forced him to miss the 2023 campaign, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Virgil had to spend the entirety of last season on IR after a 2022 rookie campaign that saw him appear in nine games and record two catches on five targets for 75 yards, while also seeing work in the return game on special teams. According to Tomasson, the 25-year-old is eagerly awaiting spring drills in April, where he'll work to start carving out a regular role for himself in Denver.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Moves to IR
Virgil (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Virgil's move to IR doesn't come as much of a surprise after it was reported he tore his meniscus and would need surgery to repair it. He'll now focus on his recovery to be ready to compete in 2024.

Virgil was diagnosed with a torn meniscus that will require full meniscus surgery, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Virgil injured his knee on the final play of the first half of Denver's loss to San Francisco on Saturday and will be out a few months at the very least. The 25-year-old signed as an undrafted free agent last year and appeared in two games during the 2022 campaign, catching two of his five targets for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Undergoes further testing
Virgil had an MRI on his knee Sunday, and the team is awaiting the results, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Virgil suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason contest with the 49ers and was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game. The 25-year-old was likely on the bubble as far as making the 53-man roster, so good news on the MRI would be especially important for the Appalachian State product.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Injures knee Saturday
Virgil left Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers with a knee injury, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Virgil was injured at the end of a 50-yard catch. He needed help to the sideline before he eventually hopped on a cart to the locker room. Undrafted out of Appalachian State last year, Virgil caught two passes for 75 yards and one touchdown across nine games as a rookie.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Not targeted in loss
Virgil failed to record a single target in Sunday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Raiders.
Virgil played just seven of the Broncos' 64 offensive snaps in the contest, ranking fourth among Denver's receiving corps behind Courtland Sutton (59), Kendall Hinton (56) and practice-squad member Brandon Johnson (22). The rookie wideout was a complete non-factor on offense Sunday after scoring the Broncos' only touchdown in Week 10. Virgil should remain far off the fantasy radar when the Broncos visit the Panthers in Week 12.

Broncos' Jalen Virgil: Finds end zone in loss
Virgil secured his only target for 66 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Titans.
Virgil's first career touchdown was the result of a busted coverage in the Titans' secondary, as Russell Wilson connected with the wide open rookie for the Broncos' only touchdown of the contest. In his first game, the 24-year-old played 30 percent of Denver's offensive snaps, a number that was likely elevated based on fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy exiting the game with an ankle injury in the first quarter. Though the long score helped Virgil finish with a respectable fantasy performance on just one target, expecting him to replicate that output with limited opportunities in a struggling offense is a risky proposition. Even if Jeudy misses time, Virgil would likely be the fourth option at receiver at best behind Courtland Sutton, Kendall Hinton and Tyrie Cleveland. It's also possible that KJ Hamler could make a return from a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined in Week 10, further complicating matters for the rookie. Virgil should remain off the fantasy radar when the Broncos host the Raiders in Week 11.
