  • Lions' Kindle Vildor: Returns on one-year deal

The Lions re-signed Vildor to a one-year contract Wednesday.

Vildor split time with the Titans, Eagles and Lions last season, appearing in seven total regular-season games. He took over as a starting cornerback for Detroit in Week 17 and held the job throughout the Lions' playoff run.

  • Lions' Kindle Vildor: Cleared from injury report

Vildor was absent from the Lions' injury report Tuesday after he left Sunday's loss to the Bears early with cramping.

Vildor had to leave his Lions debut early, but he should be able to be a full go Saturday against the Broncos. The four-year pro is also set to take on a potentially larger role in Week 15 and split snaps at corner with Jerry Jacobs, opposite starter Cam Sutton, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

  • Lions' Kindle Vildor: Exits game Sunday

Vildor is questionable to return to Sunday's contest with the Bears due to cramping issues.

Vildor started the season with Tennessee, where he appeared in two games before being let go in October. He then signed with the Lions on Tuesday, as the team is dealing with numerous injuries at the cornerback position. He logged three tackles during his Detroit debut before going down with cramps during the second half. His absence will leave the Lions' secondary extremely thin at cornerback, as there are injuries to starters Cameron Sutton and Jerry Jacobs along with Khalil Dorsey, as well as rookie safety Brian Branch, who has also spent time playing cornerback this season.

  • Kindle Vildor: Let go by Chicago

The Bears waived Vildor on Tuesday, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Vildor spent the end of the 2022 season on IR with an ankle injury. He was able to work his way back into action in June and accumulated four tackles (two solo) in three preseason games. The 2020 fifth-round pick out of Georgia Southern will explore his options once he clears waivers.

  • Bears' Kindle Vildor: Returns to action

Vildor (ankle) has been participating in the Bears' offseason program, Josh Schrock of NBC Sports reports.

Vildor missed the end of last season with an ankle injury, but his ability to practice of late demonstrates that he has moved past the issue. In 2022, the 25-year-old registered 34 tackles (21 solo) and one interceptions in 11 games while serving as the Bears' starting slot corner and will now compete for the same role ahead of the upcoming campaign.

  • Bears' Kindle Vildor: Ends season on injured reserve

Vildor ended the season with 34 tackles and an interception over 11 games.

Before being placed on injured reserve after Week 12, Vildor (ankle) was playing as Chicago's top slot cornerback. His tackle totals were very inconsistent, and he averaged three per game, which included four games with zero or one tackle. He'll likely compete for a starting role during training camp. He's under contract with the team through the 2023 season.
