  • Chase Claypool: Reaches injury settlement

The Bills have reached an injury settlement with Claypool (toe), Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Bills placed Claypool on injured reserve Tuesday, but following Thursday's injury settlement, the veteran wideout is now free to catch on elsewhere once he's past a toe issue that he sustained July 28. Unless he ends up in an ideal situation, however, the 2020 second-rounder seems unlikely to make much of a fantasy impact early on this season.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Placed on IR

The Bills placed Claypool (toe) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Claypool won't be able to play this season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bills at some point and then becomes a free agent. He injured his toe July 28 and hasn't practiced since, leaving Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling as the veteran favorites for depth roles at wide receiver in Buffalo.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Toe injury lingers

Claypool is still being evaluated for a toe injury, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.

Claypool has now missed over a week of practices, and his status for Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears is in question. The Bills signed the 2020 second-rounder this offseason as a high-upside dart to fill out their receiving room, but right now Claypool is no certainty to even make the Week 1 roster, which is in a huge state of flux after a top three of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Progressing toward practice

Claypool (toe) did side work with trainers during Sunday's practice, Alex Brasky of the Batavia Daily News reports.

Claypool has now missed a full week of practice but seems to be progressing toward a return. He's more likely to be left off the 53-man roster than earn regular playing time at wide receiver, but the 26-year-old could get a chance down the road this season if he manages to stick around beyond August.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Another missed practice

Claypool missed Tuesday's practice due to a toe injury, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

The free-agent signee suffered the injury Sunday. While it isn't expected to be a long-term issue, Claypool is on the roster bubble, so any missed time could end up costing him as he takes aim at one of the Bills' final receiver spots.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Viewed as day-to-day

Claypool is considered day-to-day with a toe issue, Sal Maioranaof the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports.

Claypool sustained his toe injury Sunday, but he isn't expected to be out for long. Once he's able to return to practice, Claypool will resume competing for slotting in a re-tooled Bills wideout corps that also includes Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mack Hollins and rookie Keon Coleman.

  • Bills' Chase Claypool: Hurt during practice Sunday

Claypool appeared to injure his left leg while practicing Sunday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.

Fitzgerald indicated that the wideout looked to be in "a good bit of pain" and hobbled after the play before being looked at by trainers. An update on Claypool's status may come following Buffalo's practice Sunday. Being able to participate during training camp could be critical for Claypool, as he is jostling for placement on the team's WR depth chart with the likes of Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mack Hollins and rookie Keon Coleman.
