Bears' Caleb Johnson: Hits the field again Saturday
Johnson (knee) played 14 defensive snaps and eight special-teams snaps during the Bears' preseason game against the Browns.
Johnson managed to make it back on the field for Chicago's preseason finale Saturday after picking up a knee injury during the team's previous exhibition against Seattle. The 2021 undrafted linebacker picked up eight tackles while playing all but five snaps on special teams (236) over 14 games last year. Johnson's availability in Friday's game should help his case for a core special-teams role heading into final roster cuts Tuesday.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Suffers knee injury
Johnson (knee) is doubtful to return to Thursday's preseason contest against the Seahawks, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
Johnson appeared to suffer a knee injury defending a running play during Thursday's contest. The linebacker managed to walk to the locker room with only a slight limp, but there's not yet an indication of how long he'll remain sidelined. Johnson filled a key role on the Bears' special-teams units last season, so the team will be searching for a replacement should his absence linger.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Posts no stats in loss
Johnson failed to record a tackle in the Bears' 31-17 Week 18 loss to the Vikings, and he ended the season with eight tackles.
Johnson was used solely on special teams. He's signed through the 2023 season, but unless he moves into the Bears' rotation at linebacker, it's unlikely he'll have significant IDP value.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Activated from COVID-19 list
Johnson (undisclosed) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Johnson missed last week's loss to the Buccaneers due to the league's COVID-19 protocols, but he'll be able to rejoin the team in Week 8. The 23-year-old has played exclusively on special teams to begin the year and has racked up five tackles (four solo) across five appearances.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Placed on COVID-19 list
The Bears placed Johnson on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
Johnson previously missed the Bears' Week 6 loss to the Packers with a knee injury, but he won't play Sunday against the Buccaneers for a difference reason. If he can overcome his knee injury and clear all health and safety protocols within the next week, the reserve linebacker could be ready to play in the Bears' next contest Oct. 31 versus the 49ers.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Officially out for Week 6
Johnson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Packers.
As expected, Johnson will not be available for the Bears in Week 6 after not practicing all week. The rookie leads the team with five special-teams tackles, so Chicago will have to fill that void against the Packers on Sunday.

Bears' Caleb Johnson: Likely out for Week 6
Johnson (knee) is week-to-week after leaving Sunday's win over the Raiders, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Johnson may miss a game or two, but he isn't expected to land on injured reserve. The rookie leads the Bears with five special teams tackles, so they will have to fill that void if he is indeed unavailable against the Packers in Week 6.

Johnson (knee) won't return Sunday against the Chargers.
