49ers' Connor Colby: Will start for SF on Sunday
Colby (groin) is active for Sunday's Week 3 clash against the Cardinals, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Colby dealt with a groin injury late this week but will be able to suit up in the NFC West battle Sunday. He'll draw the start at left guard in place of Ben Bartch (ankle), who landed on injured reserve Wednesday.

49ers' Connor Colby: Status in question for Sunday
Colby (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Colby was set for his first start in place of Ben Bartch (ankle), who was placed on injured reserve this week, but the former was limited by a groin injury at Friday's practice. When asked who would sub in for Colby if he can't go Sunday, coach Kyle Shanahan said, "It could be Drew Moss. It could be Nick Zakelj." Moss is on the active roster, while Zakelj is on the practice squad, so for him to be an option this weekend, he'll need to be elevated or signed outright to the 53-man. Ultimately, a decision on Colby's status will be made about 90 minutes before a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

49ers' Connor Colby: Lands with 49ers
The 49ers selected Colby in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 249th overall.
Colby moved around a bit with the Iowa Hawkeyes but spent the majority of his career as a starter at right guard. He earned Freshman All-American honors in 2021 and First Team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2024, and he'll now take aim at a depth spot on the interior of the Niners' offensive line.
