Panthers' Luiji Vilain: Appears Thursday
Vilain (knee) appeared in Thursday's preseason loss to the Patriots, Kassidy Hill and Darin Gantt of the team's official site report.
Vilain saw much of his 2023 season from the sideline as he battled with a knee injury. The 6-foot-4 linebacker has now recovered from the injury and appeared in 30 defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps for the Panthers on Thursday.

Panthers' Luiji Vilain: Goes to IR
Carolina placed Vilain (knee) on its injured reserve list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
After sustaining a knee injury during Sunday's game versus Indianapolis, Vilain will now have to miss at least the Panthers' next four games as he recovers. He's played exclusively on special teams so far in 2023, so Carolina will have to try to find a way to replace his production in that phase until he's healthy enough to suit back up.

Panthers' Luiji Vilain: Questionable to return
Vilain has left Sunday's game against the Colts due to a knee injury, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Vilain was seeing action for the second time this season, but his time on the field may end up being cut short by the injury. The Wake Forest product's absence will likely only impact the Panthers on special teams.
