Christian Matthew: Waived from IR
The Cowboys waived Matthew (groin) from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Matthew will now have the chance to sign with another team once he's fully recovered from a groin injury that he suffered during the Cowboys' second preseason game against the Ravens in mid-August. The 2022 seventh-rounder last saw regular-season action in 2023, when he played in six games between the Cardinals (four) and Bears (two).

Cowboys' Christian Matthew: Reverts to injured reserve
Matthew (groin) reverted to the Cowboys' injured reserve list Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
The cornerback was waived with an injury designation Monday. Matthew will now have to reach an injury settlement with Dallas to have a chance to play in 2025. The former Cardinal and Bear last appeared in an NFL game in 2023.

Dallas waived Matthew (groin) with an injury designation Monday, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Matthew suffered a groin injury during the Cowboys' second preseason game versus the Ravens, and now he's going to waivers. If he's not claimed by another team, he'll revert to Dallas' injured-reserve list and be required to stay there for the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

Matthew exited Saturday's preseason game against the Ravens with a groin injury, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
The 28-year-old signed with the Cowboys last month and is competing for one of the final roster spots in the Dallas secondary. A seventh-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2022 Draft, Matthew didn't play in a regular-season game last season after being placed on injured reserve by the Ravens prior to Week 1.

The 28-year-old cornerback missed all of Baltimore's 2024 campaign on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury sustained in August. However, he now appears to have moved past the issue.
