Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Explodes for 2.5 sacks Sunday
Sieler registered four tackles (three solo), including 2.5 sacks, in Sunday's 34-10 Week 14 win over the Jets.
Coming into Sunday, Sieler had just 1.0 sacks through 12 games. He didn't record any defensive stats in the first half against New York but then detonated for 2.5 sacks across the final two quarters. Sieler probably isn't going to reach double-digit sacks for a third straight season -- he's at just 3.5 through 13 games -- but for one game at least, he was a forceful part of the Dolphins' pass rush.

Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Logs three tackles
Sieler tallied three tackles (three solo) during Miami's loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Sieler ended up having a solid performance in what was overall a poor showing for the team. The 30-year-old has racked up 10.0 sacks in each of the last two campaigns and will look to record his first of the season during Miami's Week 2 matchup versus the Patriots.

Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Reassuring preseason appearance
Sieler played seven defensive snaps in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Sieler suffered an undisclosed injury on Aug. 16, and the Dolphins gave a vague timeline for his potential return. He played with other defensive stars Saturday, including Minkah Fitzpatrick and Tyrel Dodson, which was enough to provide reassurance that he'll be on the field for a Week 1 matchup against the Colts. He should be among the best interior linemen for IDP purposes once again in 2025.

Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Out with undisclosed issue
Sieler (undisclosed) is expected to be out "between days and weeks" but is likely to be ready for the start of the regular season, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
It's not clear what type of issue Sieler is dealing with, and the indication of an absence lasting "between days and weeks" is pretty vague, but the good news for the Dolphins is that he doesn't currently seem to be at risk of needing to sit out Week 1. According to head coach Mike McDaniel, Sieler likely would have been able to play in Saturday's exhibition game against Detroit had it been a regular-season contest, per C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald. The veteran defensive tackle is slated to be a key part of Miami's pass rush again in 2025 after racking up 10.0 sacks in each of the past two regular seasons.

Dolphins' Zach Sieler: Inks substantial extension with MIA
Sieler and the Dolphins agreed on a three-year, $67.75 million contract extension Sunday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Sieler will be well compensated moving forward after combining to post 118 total tackles (58 solo), including 20 sacks, over 32 regular-season games in the last two seasons. The defensive lineman will get $44 million guaranteed, which ranks as the fourth-highest on the Dolphins behind quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
