Wilson (oblique) was limited at practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Also limited Wednesday was Raheem Mostert (chest), who missed the Dolphins' Week 2 loss to the Bills. The duo's status is thus worth tracking in advance of Sunday's game against the Seahawks, with Wilson's chances of making a mark this weekend largely tied to Mostert's availability.

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Oblique injury not severe
Wilson (oblique) has avoided a major injury after being forced off the field late in Thursday's 31-10 loss to the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Wilson avoiding a serious health concern is one bright spot for Miami's offense, which is treading uncertain waters following the placement of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa into the concussion protocol. The team could have to rely on Skylar Thompson under center Week 3 versus the Seahawks, by which time Raheem Mostert (chest) might be a candidate to retake the field. Wilson didn't log a carry before being ruled out Thursday versus Buffalo, though he did secure both of his targets for 12 yards.

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Exits late in Thursday's loss
Wilson exited Thursday's game with an oblique injury and was ruled out from returning, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Wilson was expected to see an expanded role in the absence of Raheem Mostert (chest), though he ultimately managed only two catches for 12 yards with no rushing attempts. Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Could get expanded workload
Wilson may be in line to handle increased backfield work Thursday against Buffalo with Raheem Mostert (chest) ruled out for the contest and De'Von Achane (ankle) considered a game-time decision, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports.
Wilson was already involved in Miami's running back rotation during the team's Week 1 win over Jacksonville, as his five carries for 26 yards ranked a close third on the team behind Achane and Mostert. For Week 2, Wilson should at the very least handle expanded reps with Mostert out, but if Achane also ends up unable to play or is limited, the bulk of the Dolphins' backfield reps may fall on the veteran's shoulders. Rookie fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright is also likely to have a role after having been a healthy inactive Week 1, but this early in the season, Miami may want to lean on more experienced options.

Wilson rushed five times for 26 yards during the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
Wilson finished third in terms of carries behind De'Von Achane (ankle) and Raheem Mostert (chest) in Week 1, but he led Miami's backfield in rushing yards. Achane and Mostert are both nursing injuries heading into a Thursday night divisional matchup against the Bills, so there's a chance Wilson tends to a more significant workload Week 2. Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Back from broken nose
Wilson rushed four times for minus-1 yard and caught two of three targets for 21 yards in Friday's 24-14 preseason loss to the Buccaneers.
It was revealed during the game that Wilson broke his nose earlier in August, per Alain Poupart of Sports Illustrated, which explains his absence from Miami's second preseason game. Wilson didn't do much in this preseason finale, but he scored a touchdown in the preseason opener against the Falcons. Miami will definitely keep Raheem Mostert, De'Von Achane and rookie fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright on the roster at running back, so Wilson's at risk of being a surprise cut prior to the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Jaguars.

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Not in uniform Saturday
Wilson, Ahmed and Jaylen Wright aren't in uniform for Saturday's preseason game against Washington, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
The Dolphins are expected to play a lot of their key players, possibly including RBs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. However, it'll be surprising if either of those guys plays beyond the first few drives, which means Chris Brooks should get a ton of playing time if Wilson, Ahmed and Wright are all held out.

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Finds end zone in preseason win
Wilson rushed five times for seven yards and secured three of four targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 20-13 preseason win over the Falcons on Friday night.
Wilson drew the start with both Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane sitting out, but as his final line implies, the veteran back could barely get anything going on the ground. However, Wilson showed off his trademark pass-catching acumen with solid work through the air, and he recorded Miami's first touchdown of the night on a six-yard reception early in the second quarter. Wilson did see rookie fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright, who entered the game after him, impress with 55 rush yards and a score on the ground, and the talented Tennessee product represents Wilson's biggest threat to a roster spot.
