John Jiles: Remaining in New England
Jiles was signed to the Patriots' practice squad Wednesday.
Jiles was waived by the team Tuesday, ultimately going unclaimed before deciding to stick around as a member of New England's practice squad. The wide receiver spent the 2024 campaign with the Patriots' practice unit, but he failed to crack the active roster during the season. Jiles will look to impress at practice in order to potentially earn an elevation and make his NFL debut in 2025.

John Jiles: Cut by New England
The Patriots waived Jiles on Tuesday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
Undrafted out of West Florida last year, Jiles played 92 offensive snaps this preseason and caught nine of his 11 targets for 98 scoreless yards. He's a potential candidate to land back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Patriots' John Jiles: Staying in New England
Jiles signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on Monday.
Jiles, an undrafted rookie from West Florida, spent most of his first season with the Patriots' practice squad after being dropped by the Giants in late August. The 24-year-old has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he's expected to have the opportunity to compete for a spot on New England's active roster throughout the offseason.

The Patriots signed Jiles to their practice squad Wednesday.
Jiles was dropped from the Patriots' practice squad just over a week ago, but it now appears the team has had a change of heart. The 24-year-old wideout went undrafted out of West Florida this past offseason after recording 54 receptions for 1,081 yards and 13 touchdowns during his final collegiate season.

Jiles signed with New England's practice squad last Tuesday, but it appears he wasn't able to prove enough in his week with the team to keep his spot. He'll now have to find another opportunity.
