Seahawks' Cullen Gillaspia: Going to IR with knee injury
Seattle placed Gillaspia (knee) on its injured reserve list Saturday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
After sustaining a severe knee injury during the Seahawks' win at Arizona in Week 9, Gillaspia will be required to miss at least the next four games as he recovers. All of the linebacker's 119 snaps in 2022 have come on special teams, and Seattle will now have to try to find a way to replace that role.

Seahawks' Cullen Gillaspia: Won't play Sunday, as expected
Gillaspia (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Gillaspia's designation for Sunday's contest versus Tampa Bay doesn't come as a surprise, after it's been recently revealed that the 27-year-old is slated to undergo knee surgery following the injury he sustained during the team's Week 9 matchup in Arizona. Gillaspia has primarily operated on special teams thus far in 2022, so his absence isn't expected to alter Seattle's defensive game plan in Week 10.

Seahawks' Cullen Gillaspia: Set to undergo knee surgery
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Gillaspia will need surgery on his knee after injuring it during Sunday's 31-21 win at Arizona, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
The exact severity of the injury is still unclear, but Carroll's comments suggest it may be season-ending. Gillaspia has played all 755 of his career snaps on special teams, and Seattle will now have to find a way to try to replace his production on that front.

Gillaspia landed his first deal since finishing out his previous one-year contract with the Giants this past season. Now, Gillaspia should serve as a potential special-teamer and emergency backup behind Seattle's starting fullback Nick Bellore.
