Jalen Dalton: Headed to Dallas
The Cowboys signed Dalton (undisclosed) to the practice squad Wednesday, per The Dallas Morning News.
Dalton is looking to make an NFL comeback after spending the last two years playing in the XFL and UFL. He signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2019, but it wasn't until 2022 with the Falcons that Dalton saw his first NFL regular-season action, during which he registered 13 tackles (eight solo) across seven games. Defensive tackle Phil Hoskins was let go from the Cowboys' practice squad in a corresponding move.

Falcons' Jalen Dalton: Avoids injury report Wednesday
Dalton (toe) was not listed on the Falcons' injury report Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Dalton was sidelined for Atlanta's past two games with a toe injury, though he's now ready to go again following the team's Week 14 bye. The backup nose tackle has recorded seven tackles while playing 71 of his 98 snaps on defense over four appearances this season. Dalton should provide additional depth behind starter Abdullah Anderson during Sunday's divisional matchup against New Orleans.

Falcons' Jalen Dalton: Returning this week
Dalton (toe) will return to practice this week, according to head coach Arthur Smith, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Dalton hasn't played since Week 11, but he should return to face the Saints on Sunday. He was able to close out Week 14 prep with back-to-back limited practices, which has the 25-year-old trending in the right direction. His return will help bolster the depth of the Falcons' defensive line.

Falcons' Jalen Dalton: Sidelined again for Week 13
Dalton (toe) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Though Dalton upgraded from a non-participant in Wednesday's practice to limited activity during both of Thursday's and Friday's sessions due to a toe injury, he'll ultimately miss his second consecutive contest while tending to the same concern. In his absence, Jaleel Johnson could potentially take on additional snaps behind starter Abdullah Anderson.

Falcons' Jalen Dalton: Officially inactive
Dalton (toe) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against Washington, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Dalton was deemed doubtful due to a toe injury, so it's not surprising to see him unavailable. In his absence, Jaleel Johnson and Timmy Horne will be the only backup defensive linemen behind Matt Dickerson, Abdullah Anderson and Grady Jarrett.

Falcons' Jalen Dalton: Unlikely to face Commanders
Dalton (toe) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Scott Bair of the Falcons' official site reports.
Dalton appears to have suffered the injury during the Falcons' Week 11 win over the Bears, when he recorded one tackle. He began the week with a limited session but has failed to practice on the two subsequent days. That leaves him unlikely to suit up, potentially leaving Atlanta thin across the defensive line.
