Haynesworth suffered a sprained MCL in a preseason game while with the Saints and was ultimately waived with an injury settlement in August. Now healthy, the Tulane product will get another chance to work his way to a 53-man roster spot.

Haynesworth (knee) was waived from the Saints' reserve/injured list Wednesday after reaching an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Haynesworth sprained his MCL during the Saints' second preseason game against the 49ers. He reverted to IR after being waived with an injury designation, but the injury settlement means he won't be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season. Once healthy, Haynesworth is free to sign with another team in need of depth at center.

Haynesworth suffered a sprained MCL in his knee in the second half of Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers. He'll now be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached with the Saints.

Saints' Sincere Haynesworth: Sustains MCL sprain Sunday
Haynesworth will not return to Sunday's preseason game against San Francisco after sustaining an MCL sprain in his knee, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Haynesworth was rolled up on a play in the second half, and while he was able to walk off the field with assistance, he was later carted to the locker room. Tremayne Anchrum took over for Haynesworth at right guard following the injury.
