  • Giants' Dane Belton: Improves in fourth campaign

Belton concluded the 2025-26 regular season with 120 tackles (including 2.0 sacks), five defensed passes (including an interception) and three forced fumbles over 17 contests.

Belton began the campaign as a rotational defensive back, but he started nine of New York's final 10 games. That helped the 2022 fourth-round draft pick more than double his previous career-high mark for tackles in a season, and the three forced fumbles were also a career best. Belton doesn't grade out as an elite defender, but he buoyed his value to the Giants by thriving on special teams. He's slated to become a free agent, and it's unclear if New York will attempt to bring him back.

Belton recorded seven tackles (three solo) and one interception in the Giants' 34-10 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

Belton picked off Geno Smith in the fourth quarter, and it was Belton's first interception of the season. The fourth-year safety has produced a career-high 107 tackles (52 solo), including a career-best 2.0 sacks, five pass breakups, including the one interception, and three forced fumbles on 61 percent of the defensive snaps across 16 appearances this season.

Belton tallied four tackles (three solo) during the Giants' loss to Minnesota on Sunday.

Belton had a solid outing in the loss despite playing just 64 percent of the team's defensive snaps. The 25-year-old has now compiled 100 tackles in a season for the first time in his career and will look to keep producing during the Week 17 matchup versus the Raiders.

The 25-year-old has already compiled a career-best 94 tackles (45 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across 14 games and will look to add to those totals during the team's Week 16 matchup versus the VIkings.

Belton logged seven tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, in the Giants' loss versus the Patriots on Monday.

Belton continues to be one of the team's few bright spots on defense, as he's now tallied seven or more tackles in three straight games and eight times total this season. The 2022 fourth-round pick also managed to record his first sack of the campaign during the loss.

Belton compiled nine total tackles (four solo) and a pass defensed in Sunday's 34-27 overtime loss to the Lions.

Belton led the team in takedowns in Week 12, securing at least seven stops for the second straight game and sixth time in the last seven contests overall. The safety is having a career year in his fourth campaign with the Giants, registering a career-high 78 total tackles (36 solo) over 12 games to this point.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Makes seven tackles Sunday

Belton recorded seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 27-20 loss versus the Packers.

After Sunday's contest, Belton has now logged at least seven tackles in five of his last six games. He has made the most of his opportunities during that span, but his role moving forward could depend on the availability of teammate Tyler Nubin (neck).

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Minimal output in loss

Belton logged two solo tackles in the Giants' loss to the Bears on Sunday.

Belton had limited output in the loss, as he returned to a rotational role with Jevon Holland back in the lineup. The 24-year-old is still having a productive season nonetheless, as his 62 tackles (27 solo) have already surpassed his career-high total he set during the 2024 campaign.

Belton recorded 13 tackles (four solo) in the Giants' loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Belton continues to dominate while filling in for Jevon Holland (knee), as he racked up a season-high 13 tackles in the loss. If Holland remains sidelined for the team's Week 10 matchup versus the Bears, Belton would get the start at safety for the third straight game.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Racks up seven tackles

Belton logged seven tackles (four solo) in the Giants' loss to the Eagles on Sunday.

Belton was one of the team's few bright spots during the loss, finishing second in tackles behind Bobby Okereke's eight. Belton benefited from increased playing time with Jevon Holland sidelined with a knee injury, and he could start again next week versus the 49ers if Holland remains out.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Double-digit takedowns in loss

Belton recorded 10 total tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos.

Belton entered the weekend having been limited by a neck injury during the week, but he showed no signs of it against Denver. The safety led the team in takedowns, notching double-digit stops for the first time this year. Belton has now compiled 36 total tackles (17 solo), two passes defensed and a forced fumble over seven games this season.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Ready to rock

Belton (neck) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The fourth-year corner from Iowa popped up on the Giants' injury report Thursday as a limited practice participant due to a neck injury, but it now appears he's moved past the issue in time to play Sunday. Belton has played 272 total snaps (138 on defense, 134 on special teams) through six games this season, recording 26 total tackles, two passes defended and one forced fumble. He's expected to operate as one of the Giants' top reserve safeties in the Week 7 contest.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Limited Thursday due to neck

Belton (neck) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Belton has played in each of the Giants' first six games this season and tied his season high with seven tackles in last Thursday's win over the Eagles. Assuming he's able to suit up Sunday against the Broncos, Belton should occupy his usual role as a rotational piece in the secondary.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Shows improvement in third season

Belton recorded 56 tackles (28 solo), including 1.0 sacks, along with six pass defenses (one of which was an interception) and a forced fumble over 17 games (six starts) during the 2024 campaign.

Belton began the season as a backup but ultimately made six starts, including the final four contests of the campaign. His tackle and defensed-passes totals were career-high marks. Belton lost out to rookie Tyler Nubin on a chance for a starting role coming out of training camp, and he moved into the starting lineup at the conclusion of the campaign only when Nubin's season came to an early end due to an ankle injury. With that said, Belton did make positive strides when he got opportunities. Nubin was a standout as a rookie and should be healthy by the beginning of training camp, but Belton -- who will be in the final year of his rookie contract -- could be given an opportunity to earn a starting role opposite him if Jason Pinnock departs in free agency.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Nabs first pickoff of campaign

Belton recorded eight tackles (seven solo) and two pass defenses, including an interception, in Sunday's 45-33 Week 17 victory against Indianapolis.

The highlight of Belton's performance was an interception of Joe Flacco on New York's six-yard line on the Colts' first drive of the game. It was the third-year safety's first interception of the season and the fifth of his career. Belton also posted his second-highest tackle total of the season with his eight stops.

  • Giants' Dane Belton: Logs full practice Thursday

Belton (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Belton was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, but he appears to be past the issue as he was able to log a full practice Thursday. Unless he suffers a setback, the third-year safety should be able to suit up against Michael Penix and the Falcons on Sunday. Belton is coming off a career-best 15-tackle performance against the Ravens this past Sunday.
