  • Terique Owens: Dumped by San Francisco

The 49ers waived Owens on Tuesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Owens spent most of last season on the Niners' practice squad. On 33 offensive snaps this preseason, Owens produced a 2-39-1 receiving line. He's a candidate to rejoin the team on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • 49ers' Terique Owens: Lands reserve/future deal

San Francisco signed Owens to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Owens signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in May. He hurt his hand early in training camp and ultimately reverted to IR before being waived with an injury settlement. However, the Missouri State product then rejoined San Francisco as a member of the practice squad in early October and remained there throughout the rest of the campaign. Owens will stick around in the organization during the offseason and will have a chance to compete for a roster spot during training camp next summer.

  • Terique Owens: Receives another opportunity

Owens (hand) signed with the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Owens is the son of Hall of Famer Terrell Owens and was with the team during training camp after going undrafted out of Missouri State. However, a hand injury in training camp cut his time with the franchise short and led to him being waived with an injury settlement in August. Now healthy, he'll work to make the most of his second chance in San Francisco.

Owens (hand) was waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement by the 49ers on Thursday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The son of NFL legend Terrell Owens was waived with an injury designation by the 49ers on Aug. 7 before reverting to injured reserve Aug. 8. The younger T.O. signed with his father's original team after going undrafted. Owens played three years at Missouri State and caught 28 balls for 528 yards and four touchdowns in his best season.

  • 49ers' Terique Owens: Reverts to IR

Owens (hand) reverted to the 49ers' injured reserve list Thursday after going unclaimed while on waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Owens was waived with an injury designation Wednesday due to a hand fracture, which Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports will require a 5-to-7 week recovery timetable. Unless he can reach an injury settlement with San Francisco, though, Owens will need to spend the entire 2024 season on IR.

  • Terique Owens: Cut by San Francisco

The 49ers waived Owens (hand) with an injury designation Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Owens was picked up by San Francisco after going undrafted earlier in the offseason, but the team has decided to part ways with the Missouri State product. Assuming the 24-year-old wideout clears waivers, he'll revert to the 49ers' injured reserve and miss the entire 2024 campaign unless the two parties agree to an injury settlement.
