Isaac Alarcon: Suspension lifted, let go Monday
The 49ers waived Alarcon on Monday.
Alarcon was unavailable for the first six games of the season after being suspended for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy. The offensive tackle had his suspension lifted Monday, but the 49ers weren't willing to open up a spot for him on the 53-man roster.

49ers' Isaac Alarcon: Suspended six games
Alarcon was handed a six-game suspension Wednesday for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Alarcon, a member of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program, inked with San Francisco in early January but now faces an additional hurdle in his effort to earn a reserve role with the team. The 26-year-old spent time with the Cowboys from 2020-2024 but has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut.

Cowboys' Isaac Alarcon: Inks future deal
The Cowboys signed Alarcon to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Alarcon is now in line to remain in Dallas throughout the summer and into the offseason where he'll continue competing for one of the team's roster spots. The 6-foot-7, 320-pounder hasn't received an elevation to the Cowboys' active roster since joining the practice squad in 2021.

Alarcon is doubtful to return to Friday's preseason game against the Seahawks due to a right ankle injury, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Alarcon went down with his injury early in the fourth quarter Friday and went to the locker room with a towel draped over his head shortly thereafter. It's not yet clear whether the 24-year-old will earn a spot on the Cowboys' final roster ahead of the regular season.

Alarcon is from Monterrey, Mexico, and part of the NFL's international Pathway Program. The rookie has yet to appear in an NFL game. He'll work to clear protocols so he can return to trying to earn a chance with the active roster.
