Chris Maragos: Calling it quits
Maragos (knee) announced Tuesday via his personal twitter account that he's retiring from football.
Maragos just underwent his third knee surgery of his career in December to clean up a torn PCL he suffered in 2017, and the injury was most likely the cause for retirement. The 32-year-old has primarily served as a significant special teams contributor throughout his career.

Chris Maragos: Let go by Eagles
Maragos (knee) was released by the Eagles on Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Maragos missed the entirety of the 2018 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn PCL in late 2017, and underwent additional knee surgery in December. The 32-year-old has primarily served as a significant special teams contributor throughout his career.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Undergoing another surgery
Maragos (knee) posted on his personal Twitter account that he would undergo surgery Tuesday to repair the torn PCL in his right knee.
Maragos previously required surgery after tearing the PCL during Week 6 of the 2017 season, resulting in him opening the current campaign on the Physically Unable to Perform list. With a second procedure needed to address the knee, Maragos' future in football now looks quite murky. The reserve safety will turn 32 years old in January and may struggle to regain form after a lengthy layoff due to the multiple surgeries.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Placed on PUP-R list
Maragos (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports.
Maragos will now miss at least the first six weeks of the season as he continues to ease back from the torn PCL in his right knee that prematurely ended his 2017 campaign. Rodney McLeod is slated to start at free safety next to SS Malcolm Jenkins.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Starts camp on PUP list
Maragos (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday, Dave Spadaro of the Eagles' official site reports.
Maragos has been out since Week 6 of the 2017 season, when he suffered a torn PCL in his right knee against the Panthers. It's a tricky injury to recover from, and at 31 years of age, time isn't on his side. If he can't get lifted from the PUP list by Week 1, he stands to miss the first six games of the season.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Uncertain for Week 1
Maragos (knee) may not be ready for the start of the regular season, Peter Jackel of the Racine Journal Times reports. "I'm coming up on five months [into rehabilitation] and I've still got another four to seven months to go," Maragos said. "But it's going real well and I think I'm on the shorter end, for sure. My goal is to get ready for the start of the season."
Maragos, who originally injured his right knee Oct. 12 against the Panthers, is recovering from a torn PCL. Barring an unexpectedly quick return, it sounds like he could be a candidate to open the 2018 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which would prevent him from playing in the first six games.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Heads to IR
The Eagles placed Maragos (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com reports.
Though he's listed on the depth chart as a reserve safety, Maragos provided nearly all of his value on special teams, where he had served as the Eagles' captain and top contributor. According to head coach Doug Pederson, the Eagles plan to take a committee approach to filling Maragos' void on the return and kick-coverage units, with Pederson specifically citing safeties Corey Graham and Jaylen Watkins and running back Corey Clement as players who could step into larger roles. The team signed practice squad linebacker Nate Gerry to assume Maragos' spot on the 53-man roster.

Eagles' Chris Maragos: Ruled out with knee injury Thursday
Maragos has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Panthers with a knee injury.
Maragos suffered the knee injury while on punt coverage in the fourth quarter. He was able to walk off the field under his own power, but we'll await word from the Eagles with regards to the exact nature of his injury.
