After representing his native Czech Republic at the IIHF World Hockey Championship earlier this offseason, Edmonton Oilers forward Ales Hemsky is going to be playing in yet another hockey tournament for his country.
Only this one doesn't involve ice.
He will be joining the Czech Republic's inline hockey team at the Inline Hockey World Championship that is currently taking place in Ingolstadt, Germany.
As it turns out, Hemsky's dad, Petr Hemsky, is the coach of the team, and he was expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday against host Germany. If you're interested (and let's face it, who wouldn't be!?) you can follow (and watch) all of the Inline World Championship action on the IIHF's website.
In other IIHF inline news: noted hockey power Slovenia, the country that produced Anze Kopitar, upset Sweden at the tournament.
