Rostislav Klesla of the Coyotes was called for boarding Matt Halischuk in Phoenix's Game 4 win on Friday night, but he only received two minutes for the hit, not a major penalty. But that doens't mean he's out of the woods.
Klesla has a hearing with Brendan Shanahan and the NHL on Sunday afternoon, meaning there's almost assuredly some form of punishment coming, likely a suspension.
Here is the hit again where Klesla first grabbed Halischuk's jersey then shoved him into the boards in front of the benches.
Working in the favor of Klesla is the fact that Halischuk returned from the game after a very short absence. As we all know too well now, injuries play a big factor in the Shanahan's decision-making when it comes to suspensions, particularly the stentencing.
