The lineup the Pittsburgh Penguins will put on the ice Wednesday night could be very different from the one we've seen so far in their playoff series with Philadelphia. All of that is thanks to what unfolded on Sunday afternoon during their 8-4 loss.
The league already has disciplinary hearings scheduled for James Neal (two separate hearings) and an in-person meeting with Arron Asham due to their actions.
We also learned on Monday that Penguins forward Craig Adams will be suspended one game and coach Dan Bylsma has been fined $10,000 for Adams instigating a fight in the final five minutes of the game.
The suspension and fine are automatic for instigating a fight in the final five minutes (or in overtime) according to rules 46.12 and 46.22. The NHL does have the option to rescind such a suspension if it feels necessary, but that will not happen in this case.
Who knows, maybe the new lineup, whatever it looks like, will be an improvement for the Penguins. It certainly can't be any worse.
