The Blackhawks announced Monday morning that they have signed forward Daniel Carcillo to a two-year contract extension, terms of the deal were not disclosed.Carcillo originally signed with the Blackhawks over the summer and appeared in just 28 games for the team this season, scoring two goals and recording nine assists, before tearing his ACL on a hit from behind on then-Oilers defenseman Tom Gilbert that actually resulted in him receiving a seven-game suspension from the NHL.
He hasn't appeared in a game since Jan. 2.
Originally a third-round draft pick by the Penguins, Carcillo has been in the NHL since the 2006-07 season and has played for the Coyotes, Flyers and now Blackhawks, having scored 38 goals 310 career games, but is perhaps best known for his, let's say aggressive -- sometimes too aggressive -- style of play that often results in him getting under the skin of his opponents.
