Linus Omark, best known for his fancy puckhandling ability and flare for the dramatic in shootouts, has signed on to play in Switzerland this upcoming season for EV Zug.
Omark confirmed the news himself on his Twitter page on Wednesday saying, "Finally i got a new team, looking forward to play for Zug!"
Omark was selected in the fourth-round of the 2007 draft (97th overall) by the Oilers. For one reason or another he was never able to reach his full potential in Edmonton, recording just eight goals and 22 assists in 65 career games.
In 14 games during the 2011-12 season he scored three goals.
When it comes to shootouts and penalty shots he's probably one of the most entertaining players in the world (because of moves like this). During his NHL debut during the 2010-11 season Oilers coach Tom Renney used him in a shootout against the Tampa Bay Lightning and he scored the game-winning goal after performing a spin-o-rama at the blue line.
It angered a lot of Lightning players (Martin St. Louis was particularly upset about it). I loved it.
The 25-year-old Omark was a restricted free agent this summer.
