This year the Anaheim Ducks are celebrating their 20th anniversary. For one night they will don the old Might Ducks sweaters and take people on a trip through time and back to their Disney roots.

Goaltender Viktor Fasth will be getting into the spirit. That's because he'll sport a mask paying homage to the first goalie in Mighty Ducks history, Guy Hebert. As are so many masks, this one was designed by Dave Gunnarsson and he described it on his Facebook page.

Viktor and me always talks a lot for every design we create together, and Viktor had such an awesome idea for this mask. He wanted to pay tribute the very first MightyDucks goalie, Guy Hebert. It was such an awesome idea of Viktor, and we setup a plan how it could be created.

The tribute design is created as a homage to the very first Mighty Ducks mask of Guy Hebert. Same layout and colors, but created with the latest effects. On a distance it is a classic old school design, and when you come closer you will discover all the details and the mask enters a new dimension with all the DAVEART trademarks effects. Among the details you will find the Duck years, Hebert's player number and much more.

And not only that, the mask is a time traveler. Is is created just as if it's 20 years old, with scratches and marks and stuff all over the mask, it's even rust coming from the screws… It's like Viktor found this 20 years old mask in the attic and just dusted it a bit and started to play.

That's a really great touch to a retro design to make it look old in more ways than one.

I really like it but mostly because I miss the Ducks' old name, logo and overall color scheme. Purple and turqoise go well together, not to mention made the Ducks unique. Even though it would look totally out of place on the Ducks' current oranbe and black design, it's a shame we will only get to see this once.

Maybe, just maybe, seeing how good this mask is the Ducks will go retro a few more times next season. A guy can hope.
