David Legwand is the original Predator.

He was the first draft pick by the team back in 1998, and he's been a part of the franchise since day one. Every high and low, and every postseason loss to Detroit over the years. So it had to be kind of fitting on Friday night that he was the player that ended up scoring the game-winning goal just 13 seconds into the third period to help lead the Predators to a 2-1 win over the Red Wings.

This is the goal that made it happen.

After that, Pekka Rinne did what he's done the entire series (and season) and kept Detroit off the board and helped the Predators become the first team in the 2012 playoffs to move on to the second round.

For the Predators, it's the second year in a row they've advanced beyond the opening round after having never done it in their previous five trips to the postseason. They've never advance past the second round.

This might be the team to finally do it.
