The Florida Panthers the go-ahead goal disallowed when a whistle from a referee in the third period in their 2-1 shootout win over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
Defenseman Dmitri Kulikov took a high stick from a Sabres player in the Panthers zone before the Panthers started moving the play up the ice. Rookie Aleksander Barkov took a shot from the point and Brad Boyes put the rebound in the net but the referee blew the whistle after Barkov's shot was saved by Jhonas Enroth. The play was stopped because Kulikov was injured according to the NHL but no penalty was called on the play.
It was confusing.

The Panthers also had a goal disallowed in the shootout when Jonathan Huberdeau pushed his shot into the net along with Enroth. The NHL said that the play was not reviewable and is a judgment call on the ice.
"It was a weird game, I thought it was the NFL," Boyes told FOX Sports Florida. "It looked like the replacement refs there."
