Wade Redden, after spending the past two years playing in the American Hockey League as the New York Rangers attempted to rid themselves of his cap hit, was one of the first players to be bought out under the new collective bargaining agreement.

It didn't take him long to find a new job in the NHL as he agreed to a one-year deal with the St. Louis Blues to round out their defense.

On Saturday night, Redden scored his first NHL goal since March 18, 2010 when he fired a slap shot from the point through traffic, beating Dallas Stars goalie Cristopher Nilstorp.

Oddly enough, before this Redden's last NHL goal was scored against the Blues, the team he now plays for.
