Blue Jackets' Lauri Korpikoski: Traded to Columbus
Korpikoski was traded from the Stars to the Blue Jackets on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Dillon Heatherington.
Korpikoski mainly played a bottom-six role in Dallas, and he'll likely slot similarly into the Jackets' high-powered offense. The 30-year-old forward netted just one goal in February, but he managed 19 shots in 11 games for the month, so the luck hasn't gone his way.

Stars' Lauri Korpikoski: Still struggling to produce
Korpikoski finished Tuesday's win over Pittsburgh with three shots and a minus-1 rating.
Korpikoski has had some decent performances, but in addition to limited ice time, he's not getting many bounces. He has just one point in his last 11 games, but at least he's been putting the puck on net recently -- 13 shots in the last four contests.

Stars' Lauri Korpikoski: Warming up despite limited ice time
Korpikoski picked up two assists and went plus-2 over 11:36 of ice time in Tuesday's 7-6 road victory against the Rangers.
The Finnish winger's turned out six points and a plus-6 rating over his last seven games despite only clearing 14 minutes once in that span. That's not to say that most fantasy owners should be all that interested by what Korpikoski is doing, but it is worth noting that the one-time Ranger is seeing a bit of an age-30 renaissance. With 15 points, 79 shots and a plus-7 rating through 45 games, he's roundly outperforming his production in all three categories from last season. In fact, Korpikoski hasn't finished with a positive rating since 2011-12.

Stars' Lauri Korpikoski: Produces rare point Thursday
Korpikoski got on the scoresheet with an assist Thursday in a 5-2 win over Nashville.
It was the first point in seven games for the first-year Star, who actually averages a decent amount of ice time (14:02) but just doesn't get involved often offensively. He put up a career-high 40 points back in 2010-11 with the Coyotes, but his current pace (nine in 28 games) suggests he'll land somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30 by season's end.

Stars' Lauri Korpikoski: Grabs goal in win
Korpikoski scored his second goal of the season in a 4-2 win over the Flames on Thursday.
The tally brings the depth forward up to four points and 24 shots on goal on the season, which is right around the pace of his 22-point campaign with the Oilers last year. He doesn't do much by way of other peripheral stats to offset his lack of production for fantasy purposes, so he can probably be safely avoided in the vast majority of formats.

Stars' Lauri Korpikoski: Signs one-year deal
Korpikoski agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Dallas on Monday.
Korpikoski spent training camp with the Flames, but was unable to secure a long-term deal in Calgary. With injuries to Mattias Janmark (knee) and Cody Eakin (knee), the Stars were in need of an experienced forward. In four preseason contests, the 30-year-old failed to get on the scoresheet while averaging 15:15 in ice time per night, including minutes on both the power play and the penalty kill. The winger is unlikely to rack up a lot of offensive production, which limits his fantasy value.

Lauri Korpikoski: Released from PTO on Sunday
Korpikoski was released from his professional tryout with the Flames on Sunday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 reports.
The 30-year-old forward has played at least 64 games in each of the last three seasons, so he's proven that he can stick around in the NHL. If he ends up on another team, he could provide some depth on the wing.

Flames' Lauri Korpikoski: Inks PTO with Calgary
Korpikoski signed a professional tryout agreement with the Flames on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet reports.
The former No. 19 overall pick in the 2004 draft played with Edmonton during the 2015-16 campaign, totaling 22 points over 71 games. Korpikoski stands out as a top-notch skater with a quick release that helped him tally 40 and 37 points, respectively, with the Coyotes in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns. Now at 30 years old, he should still have plenty left in the tank but given his diminished production over his last four seasons, he projects as a third or fourth liner if he gets signed to the Flames longterm.

Lauri Korpikoski: Waived for purpose of buyout
The Oilers placed Korpikoski on unconditional waivers Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. He will be subjected to a contract buyout.
Korpikoski is a modest offensive producer, though he's a huge liability on the defensive end. Case in point, the 29-year-old has logged a minus-54 rating in 540 career games split between the Rangers, Coyotes, and Oilers, respectively. Buying out Korpikoski's contract would save Edmonton $2 million in 2016-17.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Had 10 goals this season.
Korpikoski had 10 goals and 12 assists for Edmonton this season.
Korpikoski was also a minus-17, which would seem to indicate that he isn't the most defensively responsible of forwards. He will likely remain a bottom-six forward with Edmonton next season.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Continues recent semi-hot streak
Korpikoski tallied a goal on four shots, a hit and a plus-1 rating in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Wild.
Korpikoski continues to be on a bit of a hot streak, as he's now recorded three goals in his last five games. That brings the 29-year-old up to nine goals on the season, which ties his highest total since the 2013-14 campaign. While it wouldn't be wise to expect any sort of goal scoring outbursts here, Korpikoski brings a small amount of value for those in the deepest of leagues.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Buries game winner Sunday against Jets
Korpikoski scored the game-winning goal Sunday against the Jets.
He may be skating on the third line, but Korpikoski has scored twice in his last three games and has helped Edmonton pick up victories in four of their last five outings. The 29-year-old only has 17 points (eight goals) in 57 games, but if the Oilers keep rolling, the former 19-goal-scorer with Arizona could be worth adding in some very deep leagues.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Gathers two helpers
Korpikoski notched two helpers -- one on the power play -- Thursday in a 7-2 mauling of the Senators.
Generally better known for his penalty killing, Korpikoski only saw 20 seconds of power-play time toward the end of this game, but still picked up the secondary assist on Brandon Davidson's goal. Don't expect a whole lot more of this from Korpikoski moving forward; even with the return of Connor McDavid energizing the Edmonton offense, the Finnish winger won't see any meaningful spike in production.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Makes return to lineup
Korpikoski (foot) made his return to the lineup after a three-game layoff Saturday against Nashville.
Korpikoski has been a solid producer in the Oilers' bottom-six forward group this season, with six goals and six assists through 39 games. The vet should see himself in the lineup night in and night out as long as he stays healthy.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Likely game-time call Saturday
According to Oilers coach Todd McLellan, Korpikoski (foot) is likely to participate in pregame warmups and is shaping up to be a game-time decision for Saturday's home tilt against the Predators.
Korpikoski has missed the past three games with his foot ailment. Even when the 29-year-old's been on the ice, the Oilers have kept his minutes somewhat limited. He's averaging 14:28 of ice time this campaign and this is the third straight year of diminishing ice time for Korpikoski, starting in the 2011-12 campaign when he averaged 17:08 with the Coyotes. Fantasy owners in shallow leagues probably don't find much value in a forward with just 12 points and a minus-7 rating through 38 contests.

Oilers' Lauri Korpikoski: Not expected to play Thursday
Korpikoski (foot) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Stars.
Koprikoski has missed each of the last two contests because of a foot injury, and there's no indication he will return Thursday. Assuming that's the case, the winger's next chance to play now comes Saturday against the Predators.
