Brian McGrattan: Off to England
McGrattan signed a deal with the Nottingham Panthers of Elite Ice Hockey League on Friday.
McGrattan is an old-school enforcer, as evidenced by his 609 PIM in 317 contests in the majors. The veteran has not suited up in an NHL uniform since eight appearances with the Flames during the 2014-15 season. With all levels of North American hockey seemingly dead set on eliminating fighting, it should come as no surprise that guys like McGrattan are heading abroad.

Ducks' Brian McGrattan: Leaves with head injury
McGrattan was knocked unconscious in a brawl during Tuesday's AHL game against San Antonio, The Hockey News' Jared Clinton reports.
McGrattan wasn't going to be much of a factor in the NHL this season, but this is still a pretty serious situation, although McGratten was able to regain full movement, so the worst has been avoided. Look for him remain sidelined with the San Diego Gulls indefinitely.

McGrattan signed a one-year contract with the Ducks on Friday.McGrattan only suited up for eight games with the Flames last season, and did not tally a single point in those contests.
