Radim Vrbata: Will head to retirement
Vrbata will retire now that the 2017-18 season has concluded, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
After breaking into the NHL at age 20, Vrbata successfully enjoyed a long 16 year career, and just recently posted his career high of 63 points in his 2014-15 campaign with Vancouver. Vrabata will exit the league with 623 total points, with 343 of those coming in Arizona where he ranks third all time with the organization.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Healthy scratch once again
Vrbata was a healthy scratch for the sixth straight game for Monday's tilt with the Oilers.
The 36-year-old NHL veteran is seemingly watching his career come to an end. Vrbata has just five goals and 13 points in 35 games this season and it doesn't look like he'll see much more playing time down the stretch. He can certainly be replaced in all fantasy formats.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Pots goal versus Blues
Vrbata scored a goal in his return from sickness against St. Louis on Tuesday.
Vrbata -- who was coming off a five-game absence due to illness -- picked up a loose puck in front of the net and wristed it top shelf past the glove hand of Blues netminder Jake Allen. While the veteran Vrbata may be slotted into a third-line role currently, he is still getting looks on the power play, which should provide additional opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Returns for Tuesday's game
Vrbata (illness) will play Tuesday against the Blues, Steve Goldstein of Fox Sports Florida reports.
Vrbata has sat out for five games with this illness, suiting up last Dec. 23. The 36-year-old is having a clear slump after last season's 55-point effort, having just four goals and eight assists through 30 games this campaign. Vrbata has occasionally played on the power play this season, but it's unclear if he'll jump back into that role after being out of commission for over two weeks.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: May be available Tuesday
Vrbata (illness) could return to the lineup against the Blues on Tuesday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Vrbata has missed five consecutive games due to his illness, but appears to be trending in the right direction. The veteran figures to take on a bottom-six role in his return, and who comes out of the lineup is still to be determined. The winger has just one goal in his previous 21 outings and could struggle to reach the 30-point mark this season, a year removed from putting up 55 points with Arizona in 2016-17.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Out again Tuesday
Vrbata (illness) will miss a third straight game Tuesday against Minnesota, Matthew DeFranks of the Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The Panthers have yet to release any details regarding a potential timetable for Vrbata's recovery, so at this point there's no telling when he might be ready to return to the lineup. The veteran winger will likely return to a bottom-six role once he's cleared to play.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Unlikely to play Saturday
Vrbata (illness) is doubtful for Saturday's tilt versus the Canadiens, per Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Vrbata appears set to miss his second straight game, but is trending in the right direction and will probably be available for Tuesday's matchup with the Wild, barring a recurrence of his flu symptoms. The winger has just one goal in his previous 21 outings and seems unlikely to match his 2016-17 numbers (20 goals and 35 helpers). Once healthy to play, the veteran could find himself permanently relegated to a bottom-six role.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Doubtful Thursday
Vrbata is unlikely to play against the Flyers on Thursday due to illness, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
With just one point in his last 12 contests, fantasy owners are unlikely to be overly concerned with Vrbata's absence. The 36-year-old has not lived up to expectations after coming over from Arizona, where he racked up 20 goals and 35 helpers in 2016-17. At this point, the winger may be hard pressed to reach the 30-point mark, much less get back to being a 50-point producer.

Vrbata (face) is expected to play in Friday's game against the Sharks, Steve Goldstein of Fox Sports Florida reports.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Activated Thursday
Vrbata (face) was removed from injured reserve Thursday and could play against the Sharks on Friday, Matthew DeFranks of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The Czech winger took a puck to the face on Nov. 18 and has missed the five games since. While Vrbata's status for Friday is still a question mark, he was given medical clearance Wednesday so a return to the lineup will likely come Saturday at the latest. A 20-goal scorer just a season ago, Vrbata has just three goals in 19 games thus far in 2017-18.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Remains on IR
Vrbata (face) is still on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
Vrbata will miss a fifth consecutive game Tuesday, and the Panthers have yet to release any information regarding a potential timetable for his return to action. The veteran winger has been a solid producer for Florida this season, notching three goals and 11 points in 19 contests, so he's definitely worth holding onto in deeper fantasy formats. The Panthers should update Vrbata's status once he's able to return to practice with his teammates.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Moves to IR
Vrbata (undisclosed) has been placed on injured reserve, Matthew DeFranks of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The Panthers needed to clear roster space for Derek MacKenzie, who's ready to return from an undisclosed issue of his own, so the shootout specialist heads to IR with his next shot at returning now coming Monday against the Devils. If you're relying on Vrbata, however, it'll be worth checking back to see if he actually travels to New Jersey for that game or Tuesday's road clash with the Rangers.

Oddly enough, the 36-year-old hadn't scored a goal this season before Thursday's hat trick. Vrbata now has eight points in nine games played. He'll look to keep the momentum going against Detroit on Saturday.

Panthers' Radim Vrbata: Stays productive Thursday night
Vrbata picked up an assist for the third consecutive game during Thursday's win over the Blues.
The 16-year NHL veteran got the power-play helper on a Jared McCann goal during the second period and now has one assist in each game this season. Coming off a 55-point effort last year, Vrbata is in a position to have another productive year. Through three games, the 36-year-old is averaging 2:13 in power-play ice time and has logged 13 shots on goal.
