Jets' Grant Clitsome: Calls it a career
Clitsome (back) announced his retirement from hockey Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Clitsome has undergone multiple surgeries on his back. His failing a pre-training camp physical prevented him from suiting up with the Jets in the 2015-16 season. The 31-year-old, lauded as a smooth skater, spent six years in the NHL, recording 71 points (15 goals, 56 assists) in 205 games.

Since the 30-year-old last suited up for a game on Jan. 3, the Jets have bolstered their defense by moving Dustin Byfuglien back over from forward and by acquiring Tyler Myers. Those additions may make Clitsome at risk of losing a roster spot once he's healthy enough to play again, and it's uncertain when that time may come. The Jets will probably see how he progresses in the next couple of weeks before offering a timetable for his return.... See More ... See Less -
