Anton Lander: Headed to KHL
Lander signed a contract with Ak Bars of the KHL on Thursday, TSN reports.
After spending much of the 2016-17 season between Edmonton's NHL and AHL teams, Lander has decided to take his talents to Russia, where he will likely be able to receive more ice time. Since his 20-point season in 2014-15, the 26-year-old has managed just two goals and five assists in 83 total NHL games. He'll focus on his game in Europe, and perhaps we'll see him back in North America in due time.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Called up for depth purposes
Lander was one of four players called up from AHL Bakersfield on Wednesday.
Lander was the leading scorer for the Condors this year with 55 points in 42 outings, including six power-play goals and a shorthanded tally. Along with the 25-year-old, Edmonton promoted a trio of defensemen -- Mark Fayne, Joey LaLeggia and Jordan Oesterle -- none of whom are expected to suit up in playoff action unless injuries strike.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Sent down Sunday
Lander was assigned to AHL Bakersfield on Sunday.
The winger has been bouncing between the NHL and minors the last few weeks due to the Oilers' bye week, but now with Iiro Pakarinen being called up, Lander will head back down. With 28 points in 18 games with AHL Bakersfield, he's been solid in the minors.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Recalled from minors Thursday
Lander has been recalled from AHL Bakersfield.
Sure enough, Lander has returned to Edmonton following the bye week after getting some ice time in the minors. The Swedish pivot has posted 15 goals and 13 assists to go with a plus-13 rating in Bakersfield this season, but hasn't been given ample opportunities with the big club yet.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Returned to minors
Lander was sent back to the team's AHL Bakersfield affiliate on Sunday.
Lander hasn't drawn into the lineup since being recalled by the Oilers on Jan. 19, so he will return to the minors to knock off some rust during the team's bye week. It's possible the club will recall him again when it resumes play next Saturday, but he may also stay in the minors if one or more of the injured players is ready to return.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Called back to big club Thursday
The Oilers recalled Lander from AHL Bakersfield on Thursday.
Lander has split time relatively equally between NHL and AHL this season, tallying 20 games with the Oilers and 16 with the Condors. Although the 25-year-old center has recorded only four points in the NHL, he's posted a stunning 27 with Bakersfield. It remains to be seen what role the Swede will take on in this stay with the big club, but given that he's averaged only 9:35 of ice time in the NHL this season, it seems unlikely to be a large one.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Reassigned to AHL
Edmonton reassigned Lander to the AHL on Wednesday.
Lander's last 11 NHL games -- which have come over a span of more than two months thanks to demotions and scratches -- have been rough. He's recorded one assist, three shots and a minus-1 rating in that time. Lander also played under 10 minutes in each of his last seven games; he saw only 3:24 of ice time in Tuesday's contest. Considering the trouble he's had holding onto an NHL role, there's no reason for fantasy owners to concern themselves with him.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Snaps slump
Lander assisted on Matthew Benning's game-tying third-period goal in Saturday's overtime win against the Devils.
Lander hadn't registered a point in eight games, which spans a trip to the AHL and games where he saw as little as 6:26 of ice time. He's a poor play in almost every fantasy format. In part, that's because he's not seeing much ice and not necessarily in the lineup every night. But even when he is in, he's not producing much. Over his last nine games, he has one assist and three shots.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Recalled on Monday
Lander was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Monday.
The forward has 21 points in 13 games in the AHL, so he's proven himself to be a high-scorer, but whether that can translate to the NHL is the question. In a previous NHL stint this year, he had three points in 16 games, so he hasn't proven himself yet.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Lands on waivers
Lander was placed on waivers Friday, TVA's Renaud Lavoie reports.
It's not clear what the team plans to do if Lander clears, but it's possible he gets assigned to the AHL. Even if they keep him with the NHL club, his seven-game point slump with just two shots in that time should be enough to keep you from rostering him.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Scratched in midst of slump
Lander will be scratched for Thursday's game against the Stars, the Edmonton Journal's Jim Matheson reports.
The writing was on the wall, as Lander has not been playing well. He's currently in the middle of a seven-game slump during which he's produced a measly two shots. The Swede's minutes have been plummeting, and his production for fantasy purposes has been nearly nil.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Cracks goal column for first time
Lander scored his first goal of the season during Tuesday's game against Toronto.
After scoring a single goal through 61 games last year, expecting offense from Lander is ill-advised. He is playing limited minutes (9:48 on Tuesday) and has totaled just five shots through nine games this season. He's off the fantasy grid in most formats.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Had one goal in 61 games.
Lander had one goal and two assists in 61 games for Edmonton.
At one time the Oilers had hope that Lander would become a second-line center, but those prospects now seem dim at best. The Oilers are loaded at center with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, so Lander's future may not be with the team.

Oilers' Anton Lander: A healthy scratch Monday
Lander will be a healthy scratch for the game Monday versus the Capitals, reports the Edmonton Journal.
Lander hasn't scored a point in 20 games this season so the only question that should really be asked is what took the team so long to make this move?

Hat trick in preseason tilt
Lander scored three goals on four shots in Tuesday's preseason victory over the Coyotes. The 40th overall pick in the 2009 draft, Lander was very good in limited action last season. He scored six goals and 14 assists in 38 games. He's been a proven scorer in the AHL, scoring 31 points in 29 games and could be a good contributor in the Oilers' bottom-six this season.... Oilers' Lander Delivers Goal On Power Play
Lander posted a power-play goal in Friday night's 4-3 OT win against the Jets.Lander, who compiled four goals on the man advantage last season, finds himself in a tricky situation as a new season draws near. Edmonton is absolutely stacked with heralded young centers projected ahead of him on the depth chart, including playmaker Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and this year's talk of the town, Connor McDavid, an 18-year-old who's already being included in the same conversation as fantasy studs like Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. Lander has had two consecutive seasons with 56 points and a minus-12 rating. He seems destined for a bottom-six role and there's also the possibility that he boards the bus that heads for AHL Oklahoma City this year.... See More ... See Less -
