Coyotes' Michael Latta: Placed on waivers
Latta was waived Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
The former Capital signed on with the Coyotes organization this offseason after spending 2016-17 between Los Angeles' and Chicago's AHL affiliates. Latta doesn't provide much from an offensive standpoint, though he's a tough player that does well in his own end. Expect Latta to be assigned to AHL Tucson if he's to go unclaimed on waivers.

Coyotes' Michael Latta: Signs one-year deal with Arizona
Latta signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes on Tuesday.
Latta spent the entirety of the 2016-17 campaign with Ontario and Rockford of the AHL, recording five goals and 17 assists across 61 games. His last NHL action came during the 2015-16 season with the Capitals, when he took part in 43 games, but was largely held in just a minor role. In signing a two-way contract with the Coyotes, Latta could spend even more time developing in the AHL moving forward, which could limit his overall upside as a fantasy option.

Blackhawks' Michael Latta: Acquired by Blackhawks
Latta was acquired from the Kings on Saturday in exchange for defenseman Cameron Schilling.
Latta will report to Rockford of the AHL. He has four goals and 17 points with 130 penalty minutes over 113 NHL games during his time with the Capitals from 2013-16. Latta is a depth player and his fantasy appeal is negligible in most formats, though he can be a cheap source of PIM when skating with the big club.

Latta (upper body) is healthy but will not play Thursday night against the Canucks, per Capitals coach Barry Trotz, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.
"He's healthy right now, but I'm probably just going to hold him off one more day," Trotz said of Latta, who was bothered by an arm injury near the end of 2015. It's not clear if that ailment is related to this latest upper-body issue which caused him to miss a game this past Sunday. At any rate, he should be available for Saturday's tilt with the Sabres.
