Andrej Nestrasil: Signs with Neftekhimik
Nestrasil agreed to terms with Neftekhimik of the KHL on Tuesday, Igor Eronko of Sports Express reports.
Nestrasil will continue his career in Europe after Carolina chose not to extend him a qualifying offer and he failed to receive an offer from another club. The 26-year-old center played his most recent NHL game Jan. 3 and was limited to 19 outings at the top level last season.

Andrej Nestrasil: Heads to free agency
Nestrasil wasn't extended a qualifying offer by the Hurricanes and will become an unrestricted free agent, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Nestrasil saw his role decline this past year, going from 55 games played during the 2015 campaign to just 19 during the 2016 season. It appears he largely fell out of favor in Carolina, which makes it unsurprising that he failed to receive a qualifying offer. He'll look to latch on with a team in need of depth come the start of free agency on July 1.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Back in minors
Nestrasil was returned to AHL Charlotte on Friday.
There have been obvious signs that Nestrasil is falling out of favor in Raleigh. He'd been waived in early January -- only to stick around upon clearing -- and then rode the bench for 22 games before returning to action for a mere 9:51 of ice time in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Lightning. Until he finds himself in a more favorable situation, you can safely ignore Nestrasil in all fantasy formats.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Recalled from AHL
Nestrasil was called up from the minors Wednesday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Nestrasil has previously appeared in 18 NHL contests, logging five points, 25 shots and 10 hits. With Brock McGinn (upper body) and Jeff Skinner (upper body) still dealing with injuries, Nestrasil will provide much-needed depth even if he doesn't crack the lineup.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Put on waivers Monday
Nestrasil was placed on waivers by Carolina on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
The center has only played in two games since Dec. 13, a healthy scratch in all of those games, so Carolina is looking to free up a roster space. If he clears waivers, he will report to AHL Charlotte.

Nestrasil served as a healthy scratch for the sixth consecutive game Wednesday against the Penguins.
Nestrasil has played in only 16 games this season with five points to show for it, and is frequently relegated to the bench whenever the Hurricanes have 16 healthy forwards, which is currently the case. As such, he currently has a fantasy value of about zero, and should not be on your roster.

Nestasil was a healthy scratch Saturday against the Capitals.
This should come as no surprise to anyone who had been keeping an eye on Nestrasil's ice time -- he skated a season-low 7:24 Thursday against the Ducks. With just two points in eight games along with a minus-4 rating, Nestrasil has not endeared himself to the Hurricanes' coaching staff this season; as such, he should not be on anyone's fantasy roster right now.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Returns to lineup following benching
Nestrasil returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings and recorded his first point of the season - an assist - after missing the previous three games as a healthy scratch.
While it was nice to see Nestrasil finally hit the scoresheet, he also saw ice time of just 9:40 as part of the Canes' fourth line. Nestrasil's role on the team has been diminished this season following the offseason acquisition of scoring winger Teuvo Teravainen and the arrival of rookie Sebastian Aho from the Finnish Elite League. After scoring a career-high 23 points in 55 games last season, it doesn't look like Nestrasil will come anywhere close to those totals this year, given his current fourth-line status. Look for replacements immediately.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Puts back injury behind him
Nestrasil (back) is expected to be "100 percent ready to go" for training camp, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Nastrasil fractured his vertebra last February, prematurely ending what was supposed to be his first full campaign with the Hurricanes. The Czech winger could work on getting tougher, as he shies away from physicality despite having a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. However, last season, he showed flashes of offensive potential by producing nine goals and 23 helpers in 55 games.

Nestrasil (back) finished the 2015-16 season with a career-high 23 points in 55 games.
Nestrasil was enjoying a very good campaign until a fractured vertebra in February cut his season short. Nestrasil started out the season in a bottom-six role before discovering some chemistry with Jordan Staal and Joakim Nordstrom. The trio went on to form a very solid second line, and Nestrasil's ice time spiked as a result -- as much as 18-20 minutes per night in mid-January. We expect a healthy Nestrasil to be back competing for a similar role when training camps open in September.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Fractured vertebra, season over
Nestrasil (lower body) will be out for the rest of the 2015-16 season with a fractured vertebra.
Nestrasil reportedly sustained the injury upon crashing into the boards while playing the Maple Leafs last Thursday. It's an unfortunate end to a season for which Nestrasil sailed to career-high marks in goals (nine) and assists (14). With consideration to Nestrasil's injury, Carolina's forward lines look drastically different than the start of the season since the team also shipped away captain Eric Staal and offensive stalwart Kris Versteeg as part of Monday's trade deadline bonanza.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Out again Sunday
Nestrasil (lower body) will once again miss out Sunday's game against the Blues.
Even when healthy, Nestrasil doesn't produce enough (23 points in 55 games) to warrant consideration in most fantasy leagues. The Hurricanes traded away another piece Sunday in Eric Staal, leaving the team a bit shorthanded, but the players replacing Nestrasil and Staal in the lineup (likely Nathan Gerbe and Riley Nash) shouldn't really be utilized either. Expect the team to update the 25-year-old winger's status again before Tuesday's game against the Devils.

Nestrasil (lower body) will not be available for Friday's home match against the Bruins.
The Hurricanes have 14 forwards on the active roster, so replacing Nestrasil and Jay McClement (upper body) with healthier bodies shouldn't be a problem Friday. Still, the Hurricanes average just 2.5 goals per game this season -- 23rd in the league -- and the team can ill-afford to have much of a downgrade in the scoring department. Nestrasil is a moderate point producer with nine goals and 14 assists between 55 games this season.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Exits, won't return
Nestrasil will not return to Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs due to a lower-body injury.
Already down Jay McClement, Nestrasil's departure leaves the club with just 10 healthy forwards for the remainder of Thursday's game. Not expected to do much, Nestrasil has earned extra ice time and a spot in the team's top six through his play, tallying 23 points over 54 games this season. The Hockey News' Ken Campbell reports that Nestrasil will remain in Toronto overnight for further evaluation, so there's a good chance he'll miss Friday's game as well. If that's the case, either Nathan Gerbe or Riley Nash will likely draw into the lineup in his place.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Pots two goals Friday
Nestrasil scored two goals, skated to a plus-3 and fired six shots on net in a 5-3 win over Winnipeg.
The sophomore has been producing lately, picking up five points in his last five games, a span in which he's also recorded 15 shots on goal. Nestrasil has 19 points in 46 games this season and although it's much too early to count on him for fantasy purposes, his recent run of strong play could be a sign of things to come for the 24-year-old.

Nestrasil recorded an assist - his third point in the last four games - during Friday's 3-2 OT loss to Vancouver.
Nestrasil has been averaging roughly 17-19 minutes in ice time since being moved to the second line with Jordan Staal and Joakim Nordstrom back in December, and his point production is starting to pick up as a result. Those of you in deeper fantasy formats would be wise to take advantage.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Pots empty-netter in win over Caps
Nestrasil snapped a seven-game scoring drought with an empty-net goal in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Capitals.
With just 11 points in 35 games, Nestrasil still doesn't generate a lot of fantasy value, even in deeper formats. He's currently playing on the Canes' second line alongside Jordan Staal and Joakim Nordstrom, but given his skill set, he'd probably be a bottom-six player on just about any other team. Until he can show a bit more consistency in the scoring department, it's hard to justify using him for fantasy purposes.

Nestrasil scored his fourth point in the last five games with an assist in Saturday's win over the Canadiens.
Nestrasil was frequently a healthy scratch earlier in the season, however he now appears to have found a regular spot in the lineup, skating on the third line with Joakim Nordstrom and Jordan Staal. That said, he's still averaging just 12 minutes of ice time per game and doesn't play the power play, so his offensive opportunities will continue to be limited. Roll him in deeper formats only.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Shows up in win
Nestrasil scored with the net empty and also had an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Edmonton.
Nestrasil played assertively as his four shots on net represented a season-high. Unfortunately, he's only averaging 11:49 TOI this season and that severely limits his chances to do much with the puck in a given contest. He only has three points in 15 games and that is counting Wednesday's random offensive surge.

Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Finds twine for first time this year
Nestrasil collected his first goal (and point) of the year Thursday in an overtime loss to Minnesota.
At the time, the Czech's opportunistic rebound goal gave the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead -- at least after the call of goalie interference was reviewed and successfully overturned. Unfortunately, the tally didn't lead to more chances, as he skated eight minutes on the dot and continues to see fourth-line minutes on the rare occasions that he does get into the lineup.
