    Kane (hip) was put on long-term injured reserve Tuesday. After undergoing surgery Sept. 20 to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles, Kane will be out until the calendar flips to 2025. Still, there is no exact timetable for his return. He produced 24 goals, 44 points, 220 shots on net and 250 hits in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24.   • Oilers' Evander Kane: Out indefinitely following surgery

    Kane (hip) underwent surgery in New York City on Friday to address multiple injuries sustained from playing through a sports hernia last season and isn't expected to play in the 2024 calendar year, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. According to Derek Van Diest of NHL.com, Kane told reporters Wednesday that he needed to undergo procedures to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles. The 33-year-old forward doesn't have an exact timeline for his return, per Friedman, but Kane isn't expected to be available until January or February. Kane could start the 2024-25 campaign on long-term injured reserve to save the Oilers some cap space. He generated 24 goals and 44 points in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24.     Kane (hip), as expected, is set to have surgery as confirmed by general manager Stan Bowman, per Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network on Wednesday. Kane was previously reported to be heading under the knife before the end of September, and it seems that timeline remains intact. Until the procedure happens, it's hard to know how long Kane will be on the shelf, but fantasy managers can almost certainly anticipate he'll be out of action until at least November at a minimum. As a result, Kane should land on LTIR once the season kicks off.
