Donovan re-signed with AHL Milwaukee on a two-year extension Friday.
Donovan will remain with the Predators' AHL affiliate through the 2021-22 campaign after recording 16 goals and 51 assists in 122 games over his first two seasons in Milwaukee. The 29-year-old blueliner has made only two appearances at the NHL level dating back to the 2014-15 season.

Donovan was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Monday, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports.
Donovan played 52 games with the Islanders in the 2013-14 season, but since then he's mostly plied his trade in the minors. With Dan Hamhuis (leg) out, the Predators have called the Oklahoma native up for depth. However, they already had Matt Irwin on the roster as an extra defenseman, so Donovan may not see much playing time.

Donovan penned a two-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Monday., CapFriendly.com reports.
Donovan has been lightning it up with AHL Milwaukee to start the year with six goals and six helpers through the first 13 games. With his NHL deal in place, the blueliner was placed on waivers per NHL rules, but should clear and resume playing with the Admirals. He is now eligible to get called up down the road.

Donovan signed a contract with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League on Thursday, TSN reports.
Donovan was the Islanders' fourth-round (96th overall) draft pick in 2008, but he only managed to play in 69 NHL games since then. The 26-year-old blueliner is quite talented, having been named to the All-Rookie squad with AHL Bridgeport in 2011-12, and there's a chance that he'll be able to resurrect his career overseas.

Donovan should be assigned to AHL Rochester to get additional playing time. He served as a healthy scratch prior to this move. The former fourth round pick of the Islanders had a great season in the AHL, scoring 21 points in 27 games, but couldn't translate that success to the Islanders. Donovan should be one of the first people called up in the event of an injury.

Donovan has yet to play a game this season and with Jake McCabe getting called up the Sabres are probably assigning Donovan to AHL Rochester to get him some playing time. He should get a chance to re-join the big club this season if he plays well.
