Brian Gibbons: Officially signs overseas
Gibbons penned a one-year contract with Lausanne HC of the Swiss National League on Wednesday.
Gibbons split time between the Hurricanes and AHL Charlotte in 2019-20, going scoreless in 15 appearances with the big club and notching 18 points in 26 minor-league contests. The 32-year-old forward has likely played his last game in the NHL. If that ends up coming to fruition, he'll finish his NHL career having totaled 67 points in 204 top-level appearances spread over five seasons.

Gibbons agreed in principle Wednesday to a contract with Lausanne HC of the Swiss National League that will go into effect for the 2020-21 season, Jerome Reynard of 24Heures.ch reports.
Gibbons will remain with the Hurricanes through the conclusion of the 2019-20 campaign before continuing his career overseas next season. The 32-year-old has been playing on a two-way contract this season, appearing in 15 contests for the parent club and tallying no points across 9:46 of ice time per game.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Demoted to AHL Charlotte
Gibbons was reassigned to the minors Friday.
Gibbons logged a combined 14:35 of ice time in his last two outings and has just two PIM, two hits and a minus-1 rating to show for it. Gibbons' demotion could be an indication that the Canes are expecting to have Erik Haula (knee) back in the lineup for Saturday's matchup with Florida.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Summoned to big club
Gibbons was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Monday.
The 31-year-old winger has yet to tally a point in 13 NHL contests this season but has racked up 13 points in 14 AHL appearances. Gibbons could suit up for Tuesday's game in Winnipeg while Erik Haula deals with a knee injury.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Dropped to AHL
Gibbons was sent down to AHL Charlotte on Sunday.
Gibbons has been held scoreless in his 13 NHL contests this season. His demotion could be good news for Martin Necas (lower body) as he is nearing his return. Gibbons will remain one of the Hurricanes' first options to promote in case of injury down the road.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Brought up to big club
The Hurricanes recalled Gibbons from AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.
Martin Necas is dealing with a lower-body injury, so Gibbons will be on hand as an insurance policy for Thursday's game against San Jose. The 31-year-old forward has gone scoreless while posting a minus-4 rating in 11 appearances with Carolina this year.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Hits waivers
The Hurricanes placed Gibbons on waivers Friday, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
The Hurricanes activated Jordan Martinook (abdomen) off injured reserve in a corresponding move, so they're no longer in need of Gibbons' services as a depth forward. In the highly likely event that the veteran forward goes unclaimed, he'll be assigned to AHL Charlotte.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Right back up with big club
The Hurricanes recalled Gibbons from AHL Charlotte on Monday, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Gibbons has been shuffling to and from the minors over the last few days, and now he's being brought up again with Tuesday's home game against the Flames on tap. He has one shot on goal through two games this year, and he figures to continue slotting in on the bottom six.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Returned to AHL for now
Gibbons was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Saturday.
Gibbons played 11:59 in Saturday's matinee against the Blackhawks, but his services have now been deemed no longer necessary. The 31-year-old forward could find himself back with the big club ahead of Tuesday's game against the Flames.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Back with big club
The Hurricanes recalled Gibbons from AHL Charlotte on Friday.
The 21-year-old was sent down to the minors last week, and he tore it up with eight points in six games. The Hurricanes need a 12th forward for Saturday's matchup against the Blackhawks, so Gibbons earned the call. Expect him to fill into the bottom six.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Sent back to AHL
The Hurricanes reassigned Gibbons to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Gibbons' return to the minors leaves the Hurricanes with just 12 healthy forwards, so it could be a sign that Jordan Martinook (abdomen) will be activated ahead of Friday's game against the Ducks. Gibbons averaged fewer than 11 minutes of ice time in his two appearances and recorded only one shot on goal, so his demotion shouldn't shake up the fantasy picture in many leagues.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Bumped up to NHL
Gibbons was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Sunday.
Gibbons signed a two-way deal with the Hurricanes this offseason and quickly notched four points in four AHL contests to start the year. The 31-year-old forward has played 189 career NHL games and scored 19 points in 64 contests last season. He'll provide some depth with Jordan Martinook (abdomen) out for at least the next six weeks.

Hurricanes' Brian Gibbons: Signs with Carolina
Gibbons signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Hurricanes on Thursday.
Gibbons has spent most of his career in the AHL, but he did manage to post 26 points in 59 games for the Devils in 2017-18. He'll look to make the big club with Carolina in camp.

Senators' Brian Gibbons: Scores goal, assist
Gibbons notched a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-0 rout of the Sabres.
Since being called up after the trade deadline, Gibbons has been lightning it up, as he tallied five goals and five helpers in his last 14 outings. The winger should continue to be one of the offensive focal points for the Senators down the stretch. If the 31-year-old can earn a contract with Ottawa this offseason, he might have a chance at a top-six assignment next year, but is more likely a role player with another club.

Senators' Brian Gibbons: Supplies helper
Gibbons registered an assist in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Flames.
Since being traded to the Senators from the Ducks, Gibbons has collected three goals and four assists in 12 contests. He has 12 points in 56 games overall this season, and without a standout performance in any other category, he's safe to avoid in many fantasy formats despite the recent uptick in scoring pace.

Senators' Brian Gibbons: Scores in third straight
Gibbons scored on a Thomas Chabot feed in the second period of Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders.
After notching five points in 44 games with the Ducks, Gibbons now has four points in five games with the Senators and has lit the lamp in consecutive games. If this continues, Gibbons and his expiring contract might end up sticking around Ottawa, after all.

Senators' Brian Gibbons: Traded to Ottawa
Gibbons was shipped to Ottawa from Anaheim for Patrick Sieloff on Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
If you were looking for big news early in the morning of deadline day ... this isn't it. Gibbons has just five points in 44 games of NHL action and got waived by the Ducks 10 days ago. This seems a situation where Ottawa is merely trading for an expiring contract, as Gibbons is a free agent at the end of the season.

Ducks' Brian Gibbons: Sent to San Diego
Gibbons was reassigned to AHL San Diego on Saturday.
The 30-year-old failed to record a point in the team's last game and has only managed a pair of goals and three assists in 44 NHL games this season. Gibbons will now report to Anaheim's AHL affiliate and regardless of where he plays, the veteran does not belong on anyone's fantasy radar.

Ducks' Brian Gibbons: Suiting up Friday
Gibbons will play in Friday's game versus the Flames, Elliott Teaford of The Orange County Register reports.
Gibbons was waived by the Ducks a week ago, but he cleared and will now slot into the lineup since Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) is out. He has just five points in 43 outings, so fantasy owners shouldn't expect production out of the 30-year-old skater.
