Galchenyuk signed a two-year contract with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL on Friday.
Galchenyuk signed a one-year contract with the Coyotes on July 1, but his contract was ultimately terminated when he was arrested eight days later on a plethora of charges. The 29-year-old played 11 games with Colorado in 2022-23 and failed to garner a point. Galchenyuk, who was drafted third overall in 2012, has played 654 games in the NHL, managing 146 goals and 354 points.

Alex Galchenyuk: Enters player assistance program
Galchenyuk announced Tuesday that he has entered into the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.
Galchenyuk was arrested July 9 in Scottsdale, Arizona, on charges of private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating. The Coyotes put him on unconditional waivers July 13 to terminate the contract the forward signed with Arizona on July 1.

Alex Galchenyuk: Facing multiple charges
Galchenyuk was arrested Sunday on a number of charges, Katie Strang of The Athletic reports.
Galchenyuk is accused of private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest and threatening or intimidating. Strang adds there were no injuries stemming from the hit and run incident and that Galchenyuk was arraigned Monday. Galchenyuk's next pre-trial conference is August 11. The Coyotes unconditionally waived the forward Thursday without commenting on his situation, and he will likely remain unattached to any NHL club while going through the legal process.

Alex Galchenyuk: On unconditional waivers
Galchenyuk was put on unconditional waivers by Arizona on Thursday for the purpose of terminating his contract.
Galchenyuk signed a one-year, two-way contract with Arizona on July 1, so it's odd to see the Coyotes already parting ways with him. Arizona offered no explanation for its decision, instead saying the team "will have no further comment at this time." Galchenyuk had no points, four PIM, eight shots and 10 hits in 11 contests with Colorado in 2022-23. He also accumulated 25 goals and 62 points in 132 outings over two separate stints with Arizona. If the 29-year-old clears waivers, he will once again become an unrestricted free agent.

Coyotes' Alex Galchenyuk: Inks one-year deal
Galchenyuk signed a one-year, two-way contract with Arizona on Saturday.
Galchenyuk played in 11 NHL contests last season, but he was unable to register a point for the Avalanche. He returns to Arizona for the third time in his career -- he appeared in 72 games with the Coyotes in the 2018-19 season, picking up 19 goals and 22 assists in that span. He later returned to Arizona for the 2021-22 campaign, managing six goals and 21 points in 60 games.
